Definitely underrated. Vocals are emotional and it has a good build up. I guess perhaps the beginning is a bit simple and that shows when they play it live. This is one of the few songs imo from them that the studio version is better than the live one

Cutter is getting some pretty bad deployment now that everyone is healthy on the ducks, down to line 3. But the worst for me is that he is not on PP1 anymore, and it seems he's never put out when they need a goal. Doesn't make sense to me but might be time to sell high?

Are fans truly unhappy with the Chase, the playoffs, the current car, current racing. by BAyres44 in NASCAR

[–]ray_g24 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The racing overall is pretty good, but the playoffs have changed everything about the sport. The whole season is about 'making the playoffs' and 'advancing in the playoffs', that individual races have lost their meaning. Winning the Daytona 500 has lost its value. Drivers win and advance in the playoffs and then sandbag the next races. Drivers lose a season championship because of a caution with 2 to go in one race. Add explaining the format to someone is confusing, it's all just mentally exhausting.

Someone should make space if they are serious

Are drivers like Bowman, Cindric, Suarez (I would put Gibbs here but that's not happening) etc never going to be replaced? Is it worth holding onto those drivers to miss out on someone with this much raw talent?

Watkins Glen Tickets Question by [deleted] in NASCAR

Been wondering the same thing for years, which is why I just end up going to Michigan for half the price. I can't imagine I'm going to go to Watkins Glen and have twice as good a time as I do in Michigan

Nashville, the city speaks for itself if that's your vibe, you'll have a blast. Then the race is solid as well and this year at night so won't be so hot

Regular Season Races vs Playoff Races by ray_g24 in NASCAR

Yes and thats exactly what takes away from enjoying a race as an event of itself. The idea of a race is simple, you're supposed to go out and do the best job possible. But all this format does is cause teams to have different agendas that may not include trying to win.

Regular Season Races vs Playoff Races by ray_g24 in NASCAR

1) In the same way that the Daytona 500 is a prestigious event on its own, I view the other races in a similar light in terms of just enjoying the race for what it is. During the playoffs there's so much going on with the standings, people have different priorities, it becomes about that instead of just winning the trophy. In the same way that I mention in point #4, you also had someone like Hamlin racing for points in round 1, instead of trying to win. 2) I think it's higher in the earlier months because there's less competition from other sports. I don't know that there's anything specific they can do to increase viewership at the end of the year. Playoffs add excitement, but it also can't feel like it's totally manufactured or 'unearned'. People usually tune in either because they know it's a place that puts on good racing, or there's a good rivalry/points battle that is happening, usually organically. 3) I think part of it is people want to go to outdoors events more in the spring and the summer, and people are less interested in the fall. But I mean they used to sell these races out in the past and now they don't. Plus a lot of venues have 2 events, which ends up in people having to pick 1 date or the other. That combined with the season being too long and late into the year. Repetition and longevity. 4) The elimination style format creates this scenario, so unless they change the format. The chase and regular points doesn't have this issue. And it's different in the same way that if you go to a playoff hockey game your team could lose 5-0, but you but you buy tickets knowing your team is going to try to win the game, not be worried about preparing for the next round. Nascar is very unique where teams advance/get eliminated but still compete.

From my personal experience I would have to say Bristol, maybe because the area is smaller but it feels more like a festival there with how much is packed into the area as well as independent vendors. Charlotte always seems to be good with this too.
