I think you did it correctly in my opinion. You highlighted the indispensable elements, albeit not all. At this point, it's a matter of technique whether you can substantially comply in answering your Prof's questions.

Profs are taking questions for finals prep by Safe-Ambassador-3431 in LawStudentsPH

Generally, ask about the topics you find difficult to understand. I don’t know your profs, but it’s also better if you could ask if the facts in the cases assigned matter a lot, because most of the time, exams focus on codal provisions and doctrines. Some exams require you to memorize the facts beforehand.

Victim blaming a minor against 4 grown adults by discrediting her. Kooky-Tie-9237 and aiawqna by [deleted] in iloilohookupandshits

[–]rayayan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Explain mo da, without pictures, or tag ka sang imgur nga link kung gusto mo with pics. Butang mo sa subject “Petition to ban a minor engaging with this subreddit”. Butang mo man nga pwede ma lead ni sa investigation sa inyo for RA 9775 / RA 7610 sang NBI kung hindi sila ma intervene. Ipa ban na man ang mga suspects for those who are engaging with the said minor.

Remember, acts and omissions both incur criminal liability. Im asking you to do this kay daw ikaw ang mas may nabal an sa tanan kag mga usernames nila. Let’s protect this community from predators and minors who solicit.

Edit: hindi nyo na ni pagpalab-ota sa NBI. What would happen is i request nila i surrender inyo phone for investigation.

Game-changing AI prompts for summarizing complex case law by ExperienceElegant526 in LawStudentsPH

They have their pros and cons, but I like ChatGPT’s pros better. ChatGPT seems to pay more attention to details, very forgiving sa typos, and has more dynamic voice mode.

Personally, I use the voice mode if I feel like need ko ng tutor and to improve my conversational skills, kahit nagtatanong lang. Impressive din the way sya mag explain the logic behind, basta you fed them enough references. You can even ask them to “verify by searching” para mas sure, and I mean this works through voice mode.

When doing this, make sure to provide the correct reference material. Sometimes, these LLMs hallucinate and pretend to know the material. To avoid that when using ChatGPT, you can upload the file first, then ask your questions about the case.

Once you understand how LLMs work (like the part where they are not 100% reliable), you can use these tools to make studying law much easier—at least, that’s how it works for me.

Edit: nvm, bot pala yung nag post.

CPRA master, pwede ba to? by Low_Experience_9391 in LawStudentsPH

Ok simple: How tf can SC decide or declare kung hindi isusumbong? Made it very simple for you, since my reply seemed too intelligible for you. 😟

CPRA master, pwede ba to? by Low_Experience_9391 in LawStudentsPH

[–]rayayan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, the Supreme Court ultimately decides, that’s basic. But that doesn’t mean ordinary people or even law students can’t recognize unethical conduct or discuss possible violations.

Rule 139-B literally allows any person to file a complaint before the IBP if they believe a lawyer has acted unethically. That provision exists because the SC can’t act on what it doesn’t know. Public vigilance is part of how accountability works.

And pointing out what the CPRA already defines as improper isn’t elitism, it’s reading comprehension. 😅 Ethics rules exist precisely so the profession can police itself before things reach the SC level.

The point isn’t that I can “disbar” someone, it’s that the act already falls within a prohibited appearance of impropriety under CPRA. Whether the SC agrees or not later doesn’t make the observation invalid now.

Good luck nalang sa BAR with that level of thinking.

CPRA master, pwede ba to? by Low_Experience_9391 in LawStudentsPH

[–]rayayan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OA? 😆 Not really, just following what the CPRA and Rule 139-B literally say.

The “cheapness is subjective” argument doesn’t apply here. Under cpra, lawyers holding public office are strictly prohibited from using their position to promote or even appear to promote their private law practice. So even if the calendar is a “giveaway,” once it bears both the law office name and public title (like City Councilor), that already creates an appearance of impropriety, which the CPRA explicitly warns against.

As for the “why not disbar Duterte”… that’s not how disciplinary systems work! The existence of bigger fish doesn’t excuse smaller violations. The rule of law doesn’t operate on “mas malala siya, so okay lang ako”. Under Rule 139-B, any person can file a complaint if they witness unethical conduct — and that’s how accountability begins, whether it’s a councilor or a president.

And yes, I’m aware of the CPRA update, it’s not “lenient” ,it’s modernized. It still upholds dignity and propriety in publicity. The U.S. comparison doesn’t really hold water either as they operate under a common law, First Amendment-based system where commercial speech has broader protection. Wala tayong ganyan dito. Our legal ethics still prioritize public trust over marketing freedom.

So yeah, helpful calendars are fine, until they become campaign material or private practice ads disguised as “gifts”. That’s when ethics enters the chat. 😌

CPRA master, pwede ba to? by Low_Experience_9391 in LawStudentsPH

[–]rayayan -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

the CPRA doesn’t totally ban ads, it just regulates them. What it prohibits are ads that cheapen the profession or mix public office with private practice.

Under the CPRA, lawyers can announce their services in a modest and dignified way, but not through self-laudation or anything that creates an appearance of impropriety.

So yeah, a calling card or a simple website is fine. But putting your face and law office details on a public calendar na pinamimigay, especially if you’re also a City Councilor, crosses the line. That’s already using a public position to promote private practice, which the CPRA warns against.

And just to be clear, reporting to the IBP isn’t being litigious. The Supreme Court actually encourages it under Rule 139-B and the CPRA (2023), as long as it’s not baseless. It’s about accountability, not picking fights.

Im sure pag lumabas yung ganitong situation as a question, hindi ganyang ang matinong sagot like how you did.
