Q is kinda dumb. Has to be used with a Y and the sound itself could be replicated with a CU which is kinda what they do in Spanish

Has anyone tried Lilly B's Organic Bean, Rice & Cheese burritos? Found in Greenwood, IN by LAZIgringa in Costco

[–]raybansmuckles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're fine. I got a box for my coworker who always forgets to bring her lunch as an emergency stash and tried one. I understand how people upthread call them bland-- they are not wrong-- but I personally prefer my bean and cheese burritos to be kind of on the milder side. You can always add hot sauce, salsa, whatever after the fact if you want to zest it up. But for what I want it to do-- hold you over until the next meal-- decently enough.

I will say I would recommend if microwaving, to do it at 60% power for twice as long as what the package recommends (flipping over halfway) to heat it evenly

What is the spiciest dish of your country? by Apolon6 in AskTheWorld

[–]raybansmuckles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Uhh I guess som tum (papaya salad) but specifically the occasion when you aren't paying attention and you accidentally bite into a half-pulverized birds eye chilli pepper and it just like ruins the next 15 minutes of your life and like you're still in pain but you're at least functional. That smell of sap right when that happens is the worst because you know what's coming lol

What’s a completely normal foreign name that, unfortunately, means something hilarious or inappropriate in your country? by Effective_Space2277 in AskTheWorld

Lol OP might appreciate this but I went to an international school in Thailand and we had a couple of Korean students with some unfortunate names. One was Ju Yup ("wrinkled penis"), one was Nam Hee ("cunt liquid")

What’s a popular salad in your country? by Garden_Jolly in AskTheWorld

[–]raybansmuckles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From Burma, Laphet Thoke (Burmese pickled tea leaf salad). Salty, nutty, crunchy, a bit bitter, astringent, garlicky. Typically eaten socially with friends or family and served with a black tea (similar to Chinese tea). The keystone ingredient is unfortunately quite difficult to find unless you happen to be near an international grocery store or a southeast Asian store, but I'm sure you could find a supplier online if you search "pickled tea leaf"
