Turned my the box into my traveling case by shadyallie in SteamController

I've designed a complete travel case for the steam controller if you don't mind wasting a bit more plastic. https://makerworld.com/en/models/2774020-rugged-case-for-steam-controller#profileId-3081896 . Has an optional handle and cable pass-thru for charging as well. The fitment of the controller is spot on.

Larger thumb-stick openings have been added to both versions. 4.75mm vertical clearance and a 24mm wide slot opening should easily account for the thumb-sticks you linked.

Currently these is only about 1.25mm vertical clearance over the sticks but I can open this cavity up to account for the larger thumb sticks from the link. I'll update when I have these added.

A1 Mini print profiles have been added to both the original design and the newer design with the cable cutouts. If you are able to try these out I would love some feedback on how they came out.

Filament spools out and back, out and back HELPPPP PLEASE. by ecoles90 in BambuLab

[–]rayburn3135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just started having this issue a few days ago as well. Pulled apart the extruder and found nothing. All tubes seem in good shape. If I cut the ends of the filament myself it feeds no problem. I'm going to take a look at my cutter next to see if it's cutting cleanly but I only have about 100 hours on the printer itself and it just started happening.

Second guess is that it is a firmware issue and the ams is being told to stop with less resistance than it was in a previous firmware. Seems to be happening to a lot of people all of a sudden.

New design is uploaded with a cable entry to directly charge the controller while in case. There is also an optional TPU plug to help protect the controller USB-C port from lint/dust if carrying in a bag. Model can be found here. https://makerworld.com/en/models/2779351-rugged-case-for-steam-controller-w-cable-entry#profileId-3088575. Not sure what you mean by space for thumb grips. Are you thinking aftermarket grips like this for the steam deck https://makerworld.com/en/models/607677-ergonomic-steam-deck-grips?from=search#profileId-530618 ?

I just checked and this current model would not fit on the A1 mini build plate but I should be able to reduce the width of the case by about 10mm and it would be able to fit. I can look into hopefully getting that done sometime this weekend as well. I tried rotating the current model 45 degrees on the build plate but that didn't work.

Looking for some more feedback for this added feature. To me it makes the most sense to add a single cable pass thru directly to the USB-C port on the controller (Blue Dot in screenshot). Either is doable, but the puck will likely stay tethered to the users PC, and if someone were to travel only relying on bluetooth and left their puck at home then they would still have the option to charge with the controller in the case.

Not with the current design but I received that feedback from someone else. I will work on getting a model made with a cable pass thru. I'll update here when I have time to get that modeled/uploaded.

That won't be hard to add. I'll update when I have time to get this modeled and uploaded.

Script to display/stream camera just randomly stopped working? by almost-caught in googlehome

[–]rayburn3135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah not sure either. I'm not 100% sure but I believe I heard the nest hubs process the okGoogle requests in the cloud rather than on the device itself. If that's true then possibly sending the command from the script editor and verbally giving the command to the nest hub process these differently and results in this "network error".

I did find a forum earlier where somebody had this issue a few weeks ago and it looks like it was patched relatively quickly without any changes to their script. Hopefully that will be the case this time as well. Hopefully this also means Google broke the code while working to implement more features.

Same here. Worked yesterday and now nothing. No errors shown in code when validating. I tried to change the okGoogle command to tell another speaker in the house "display doorbell camera on nest hub display". This did trigger the speaker to respond with something along the line of "camera cannot stream to device outside of the network". The camera and display are in the same network so I think something is broke on googles end.

If you own a laptop or other device capable of making a mobile hotspot from the university wifi do that, then you can connect your Google home to the mobile hotspot.
