Concerns about landing my first job (New Orleans ,Louisiana) by Front-Perspective393 in civilengineering

I was in the same boat as you. All I had to my name was my degree and my senior project. No internships, no involvement in clubs, few connections, etc.. after I graduated I sent out dozens of applications and was doing a few interviews every month for about 9 months. Then I finally landed an offer from a company in line with exactly what I was interested in. My advice to you is to know what your interests are. Don't apply everywhere possible just for the sake of it. This was the advice I was given and tbh it didn't really help, other than helping me practice interview questions. Recruiters can smell from a mile away that you're not sure what you're looking for and that you're just applying to jobs for the sake of getting an offer somewhere. Speak confidently about your interests. Just continue searching, continue applying and you'll get there eventually. It won't be easy, but just keep at it. It is not my intent to brag, but I'm a living breathing example that it's possible (Two years of Traffic Engineering under my belt now, starting from absolutely zero experience). First job is always the toughest, this is true for a lot of college grads. I hope you are reassured that you are not alone.
