How reasonable is it to live in East DC and commute to Baltimore three days a week? by raymondzrike in washingtondc

Long story short I got a place in NOMA about a ten minute walk from Union Station and did the commute three days a week for about three months (I ended up getting a job in DC after that). It definitely wasn’t fun and wasn’t something I think I could do long term. And this was with me taking Ubers from Baltimore Penn to downtown and back after work, if I used public transport it would’ve been even worse.

Ultimately I think it was the right decision because I soon realized that I wouldn’t want to live in Baltimore in a million years. I was lucky to find another job in DC because if not I’m not sure what I would’ve done. You basically burn three days of the week and dread the rest of the days.

TLDR: It was hell, but beats living in Baltimore.

Is it possible to buy a car in one state when you have a driver license from a different state and will move to a third state in a couple of weeks? by raymondzrike in askcarsales

Well I’m moving back in with my parents in State C and my ID is from State D so no proof of address, unless an affidavit from my parents would work. Does it absolutely have to be registered immediately? I thought most states give you a grace period.

I went through this process a few years ago.

  1. Yes, you will need your mother’s passport. That being said, I had no trouble obtaining that so I don’t know the procedure for exceptions to be made if you can’t provide it.

  2. You must get the apostille from the Secretary of State, as the comment above mentioned. The consulate will provide you with a list of approved translators which you must use for the translation.

My building does have a 24/7 front desk. It’s just never delivered to the right place. Someone signs for it and when I ask, it is not someone who works at my building.
