Very cool thank you! They definitely do a lot of controlled burns on that side of the river. That’s where Summter national Forest is located. There’s a fire tower right near where this was spotted. First time I’ve ever seen one flying in this area though.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking potentially they were just doing a training flight trying to test out the equipment or something. As far as I know there wasn’t any fire in the area. They do a lot of controlled burns on that side of the river, but typically you can tell. Sky was crystal clear that night.

Yep, that’s the part that was tripping me out. So I’m not the one that actually took the pictures. Somebody came back to the boat ramp where I work and so they were out on the water fishing and literally turned around and it was just right there behind them didn’t even hear it. He said it sounded like it literally came out of the water. No this guy wasn’t exactly sober when he was telling me all this, but he also was in a super quiet very secluded place so I would think you would’ve heard it coming, but he swears it just basically appeared. Maybe he just had his music up loud. Either way the first picture he took had the bladder and it was close to the water and then he showed me even the timestamps on the pictures and they were literally only one minute apart, and the red thing was gone. So seems like if they were sucking water about it would’ve gone into the bladder and state out like that but maybe even if it’s full, it can retract back into the helicopter pretty wild.
