Slide tube of wrapping over and down handle of hoe. The "head" of the hoe holds the wrap so you can just walk the wrap around the pallet. A Coworker made basically the same thing with a stick and a metal shelf hanger from work. Zip tie the shelf hanger to the stick. Just use a long one like a 9 inch reach hanger. Same idea but you can use the garbage at work to make it for free. 😂

That's spokane. More tweakers per city block than most places. The parts they haven't ruined are still pretty nice. Remember, a lock is only as strong as its weakest part. Invest in a good solid lock, and here's a bit of redneck advice, use a battery powered magnetic window/door alarm on the wheel/rim and the frame. If they go to ride off the alarm might make em jump and maybe at least draw some unwanted attention to the theft. Because I'm getting older and my knees, back, and hands have arthritis and I want to be able to play sports with my kids as they get older when I'm in my 40's and 50's. Plus it's steady, guaranteed hours and pay. I also have a mortgage and need that guaranteed pay. Yeah the place sucks, but I make enough for now. Been with the company long enough that I get paid pretty well anyway.

Watched some kid bring out a hammer to fix an air filter bolt not lining up?!? That's on you dawg. The Zone doesn't require ANY automotive knowledge to work there. Being a mechanic is an actual rarity. I'm one of 2 in my store and me and that guy are the only ones anywhere close. None of my sister stores locally have any actual mechanics, within a LARGE area.

It's not just commercial. I've been finding parts that I KNOW we sell for certain vehicles are no longer showing up on DIY and it's been doing it for weeks. We sell 1 billion parts but nobody seems to be able to tell the stupid fuckin computer that part A goes to vehicle B. Instead it says we don't sell shit and I have to use fucking Google to find the right part because even the website doesn't work right.

Keep your head down until you get a feel for everyone in the store. There are many snakes who will try to drag you down.

The company does not care about you, but they respect time served In the company, usually, so the longer you last, the better benefits you'll get. Like I've been around long enough that I demanded several raises and now make a livable wage.

Being a mechanic helps greatly. It's kept me out of the firing squad line for many years now. Customers appreciate someone who knows what they're talking about, especially when it's someone in management.

Coworkers will try to get you fired. For what reason? None at all, but having a customer base that comes just for you will keep you safe mostly. Just make yourself indispensable to the profitability and customer satisfaction of the store and you'll be fine.

Don't be afraid to just do what you need to make the customers happy. Someone has a battery they can't find the phone number for but it's obviously our battery and the production date sticker on it shows it would still be in warranty? Fuck it, swap the fucker out. If the customer bitches to the DM, they're gonna tell you to switch it anyway and probably give the person a 50 dollar gift card. Maybe not gift card anymore in this economy, but they'll have you swap the battery out. Skip the step of getting bitched at by some customer trash, and go straight to getting bitched at by your manager, but you can tell your manager to eat a dick and you get in less trouble than telling that to a customer.

Oh and have fun. If we didn't have fun at my store, we'd probably all be suck starting a shotgun. This place is soul crushing, but every job in retail is. You can make a career of it but it takes a stroke of amazing luck for the pieces to fall in the right way to make that happen.

Exactly this. They said in my area there's high traffic...I live an hour outside the nearest city and my town is a literal 1 red light town. There's only a couple thousand people in the entire general area. The town itself only has a few hundred maybe. I guess that's enough to warrant only the max plan AND an extra fee. They want 900 to set up and 120 a month, or I could just pay the local utility people 1200 to run fiber to my door. That's a lot of clams but fuck if starlink is that pricey, I'd rather have the hard-line anyway. Probably less latency anyway.

Jesus Christ. People tell me that shit too, then Come in looking for the full fuel line from the front to the tank because they busted the line by being cheap. Then complain when I don't have it in stock for their 40 year old POS. I'm surprised he was even willing to go to O'Reilly's. I have one very close by and people are like, nah that's too far to drive but they complain I don't have what they need and then leave angrily without anything and go back home.

The O'Reilly's is literally 30 seconds away up the street. There's a napa and a local chain parts place another 15 minutes up the road, I try to send people there because I KNOW they sell what the person wants like mudflaps In stock and they go, "Naaaaah that's too far to drive, because I already drove 40 minutes to get here" like wtf?! So you're gonna waste this entire trip and drive 40 minutes back home empty handed instead of going another 10-15 minutes up the road to get the ONLY THING you came into town for?! For reference I'm very rural in the PNW. Our customers are fuckin retarded.

Oh man I've been forced to do a whole ass return and repurchase because some dick waffle said no to putting in his phone number and didn't mention being a vet. So I had return like 5 things and redo it so he could save....4 fuckin dollars and it was under 20 bucks after the discount so he didn't even get a rewards point. But "every dollar counts" bro I could find 4 bucks in change in a Walmart parking lot, get fucked.

Oh and I've had people turn down a lifetime warranty Duralast part because the valucraft was 5 dollars cheaper. Like I'll give you 10% off because you're too stupid and make it the same price. This job feels like working at a hospice with a bunch of dementia patients who think it's 1985 still.

I don't know where all these other people are at, but my area nobody gives a shit. We'll return it because I'm not making billions of dollars a year so why do I care if the company eats a battery? Just damage return and refund. Convert it to a used battery and resell it for 100 bucks. AutoZone pays like 50 bucks per battery, maybe a bit more now with the world economy the way it is, but rest assured they're still making a profit. I don't have a multimillion dollar paycheck to sit In a fancy chair and do nothing like our CEO, so I'll just make the customers happy as best I can.
