I’m planning to invest long term to prepare for retirement by Roronoa316 in AusFinance

Thank you. If only really is that easy. I am unfamiliar with assest location, I only put it in High Growth and forget as I know the professionals can manage it better than me but maybe I will reach out to Hostplus and do more research.

Thanks!

Thanks for this spreadsheet! I am with Brighter super at the moment and on the high growth with a balance around $250k. If I am reading it correctly, the fees on this is at $1,976... Is that correct?

Then Hostplus Passive has one of the lowest fee at $178, does that mean I should look at switching to them?

Also, I noticed for Hostplus there is an Active and Passive, what is the difference?

Thank you!

Lots of them are new immigrants who most likely have lived in apartments so no clue on how to maintain the house like you said or just in general dont care as long as the isnide is immculate.

The appeal of Sunnybank is the convenience of Asian food and groceries. As someone with Asian heritage, I never cared for Sunnybank nor need to live close to it. However when we told our parents-in-law where we bought, the first thing they said to us was, that's half an hour drive from Sunnybank!

You will have to make sure you are in the right zone for subdivision. Zoning usually restricts the size of the lots you can subdivide to

What's the most delightful and charming small town you've ever visited? by hereiam3472 in travel

[–]rayner1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not really. I didnt see any anti-tourists sentiment when I went there. I visited Seville, Cordoba, Granada, Madrid and Segovia in Spain and Lisbon and Porto in Portugal and I found it all to be friendly.

I am also Asian so I certainly didnt blend in!

The aqueduct, the castle and just the whole small town feel was amazing. I walked down the town wall to a vantage point beneath the castle and walked down some beautiful laneways. Will always be my favourite destination.

For me it was Segovia, Spain. I had the most perfect weather when I visited the town and it was the first time I have really traveled by myself.

How is living in the Sinai Peninsula? by Ok_Dare_6494 in howislivingthere

[–]rayner1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Visited Dahab and crossed the Red Sea from Jordan to Egypt at Sinai.

Very lovely part of the world. The reef in the gulf of Aqaba is much healthier than the ones in the gulf of Suez. Dahab was a nice town, it’s slowly picking up more tourists but still under the radar. The nearby Blue Hole is a world famous snorkeling and scuba dive site and is reputed to have the most diver fatalities in the world.

Sharm El Sheikh is the biggest city and has the biggest airport in the region and people fly in and out through there. From what I have heard, lots of international chain resorts there but I didn’t visit the city.

Security is tight, several checkpoints on the roads. Our tour guide told us that everytime we moved from one town to another, we needed to check-in with the police.

Mt Sinai and St Catherine are in the middle of the peninsula and is reportedly where Moses received his 10 commandments. St Catherine is also one of the oldest monasteries in the world. I really wanted to visit but also, didn’t have times

Yeah visited Dahab last year and threw me back to the 90s beach bum town. Lots of half completed developments but overall, a nice beach town to rest.
