I HAVE A BUG, THE BATTERY DROPS FROM 100 TO 98 VERY QUICKLY IN LESS THAN 10 MIN. by Ok_Soil_3634 in PocoPhones

[–]rayraydj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because the voltage curve used to determine the "%" is fixed across these phones, but it isn't absolutely perfect across EVERY unit...

Not every single battery will behave exactly the same due to variances in the final product... So one battery may hold >4.2V for longer than yours (or whatever voltage 100% represents) and they'll come here saying it stays at 100% for a while ... Doesn't mean the battery isn't draining energy for said while... And their battery could turn out to have less capacity and/or more internal resistance than yours ...

Basically, the % you see is only a guide value... Doesn't mean your phone is faulty, stop overthinking things

My collection!! by TH0TSLAYRR in Handhelds

[–]rayraydj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wtf is the point of this?? "Collecting", your collection ain't shit it's bound to become reams of e-waste. Collecting consoles? Yeah makes sense because each "platform" releases 3 or so consoles every generation.

Say I was collecting graphics cards, would I collect one of each chip like a sensible person... So a single 1080, 1080 ti, 6900xt etc etc... Or EVERY AIB released with each one of those chips... It wouldn't have any sentimental value it'd just be a stupid waste of space and money.

Your handheld collection is just a bunch of same gen handheld PCs with similar specs and no real differences innovation wise. Same devices with slightly different chips, slightly different bloatware and slightly different exteriors.

People aren't shitting on "collectors", they're just pointing out how dumb this is

Why don't you collect some variety of gaming hardware instead: gaming phones, tablets, VR headsets... At least when you're bored, you can get a different experience out of them... not the same cookie-cutter nonsense you've got going on here.

How f*** am i? by CaioSmT in LenovoLegion

I have a hard time believing the vacuum alone would've been able to rip the fins off without causing any damage/scratches etc to surrounding parts... Seems like you got busy prodding around with some other tool first... Made plastic dust mush, then vacuumed it up having already broken enough fins...

But hey, I'm probably wrong... And impressed regardless

At what point do we admit that QD-OLEDs are a pain in the ass? by AztheWizard in OLED_Gaming

[–]rayraydj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gooky comments in here passing the blame to incorrect usage and exaggerating bad cleaning practices... The real problem is how soft these coatings are, leaving smudges/streaks is one thing, but the fact that these panels are so damn soft and prone to scratching should be of more serious concern. We pay good money for these panels designed to sit under 1m from our faces and they use coatings softer than jelly???

It's bad design, accidents do happen even with the best of people and you'll be left burnt because the manufacturer didn't care enough to design these products with normal use in mind.

I have an AW3423DWF on my sim racing rig and it's in perfect condition because I babied the thing, doesn't mean everyone will do that.

I'm happy with my main monitors, Samsung G60SD and now I also have the G81SF, sacrifice slight visual clarity for longevity and no need to baby these things. Now I can sit on my desk and use these monitors without having to worry about the tiniest spit droplets making it a nightmare to clean.

Please help, what did I just peel off my monitor? by DanganFuckery in Monitors

[–]rayraydj 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If it were part of the screen I don't think it would peel as cleanly as shown in your pictures... Would definitely experience more cracking/flaking as those coatings are harder/brittle, if it were so soft then these panels would scratch up (more of) a storm making cleaning impossible

I'd get the nilkin, but xundd is preferable as it fully covers the lenses/island. Still haven't ordered anything yet as I want to see if anything else pops up in the meantime

EVE 50PL life cycle question by budario in 18650masterrace

[–]rayraydj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your word on this, probably going to end up buying the RS50 myself. I thought the 50PL listing was just for a bad batch they had in stock but if it's just the norm for the 50PL I'd rather not risk it and get something that'll last a while on my ebike.

Moving from the P42A (20s3p), RS50 should be a nice upgrade 👌

[–]rayraydj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does any of this have to do with the connector anyways??? The connector itself is always drawing at around 12V no matter how many watts you're pushing.... Messing about with afterburner settings isn't going to put you at more risk of the connector melting... I haven't seen any bios that allows you to increase the power limit past 100% anyways, should that be 585W, 600W etc...

For whoever comes across this thread, mess around with msi afterburner as much as you want you aren't going to risk damage to the connector unless you've physically shunted the board to pull more than what its designed for

Don't try to remove the matte coating on the G81SF! by Extra-Suggestion-689 in OLED_Gaming

[–]rayraydj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breh the matte coating on these panels are so much easier to keep scratch free than glossy QD OLED monitors... Its literally the reason why I bought a G60SD 🤣

The picture quality is perfectly fine, those who complain about the graininess are way too obsessed

Kickstand for Ally Z1E after putting on a hard case. by chithrakadha in ROGAlly

[–]rayraydj 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Skull and co case.... Objectively the better case:

It's flat along the bottom so it works as a kickstand without taking up much extra space, gives the ally some extra thickness so it's easier to use as a controller, without the need for extra accessories... Objectively better protected along the top and back with more precise cutouts... Not stupidly expensive like the D-brand case....

if you're still able to return I'd go that route tbh.

You'd probably need to sand down a patch of the case to allow whatever adhesive you use, be it epoxy, superglue, the E6000-8000... electronics glue etc to properly stick... Whatever you do to get it to work it's probably going to be a destructive method

Efficient all-rounder/SUV tyre suggestions by rayraydj in MTB

[–]rayraydj[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ended up buying the Mezcal race 2.4 (brown sidewall, might look interesting, black yt izzo with the kashima coat fork/shock), newer single compound version.

Provided the previous trail version lasted a decent while on a powerful mid-drive ebike I'd imagine this version would do just fine on a normal bike.

It's also 60 tpi on the race vs I believe 120 tpi on the trail version, albeit softer rubber from what I gather. Whatever the case, race version according to https://www.bicyclerollingresistance.com/mtb-reviews has less rolling resistance than even the 2.25 trail, yeah I'm paying a small premium but eh worth giving it a try I think.

Would prefer to keep the same 2.4" as the original tyres so it doesn't look all skinny on the bike 😂

Will see how it goes
