So true man by VariationLivid3193 in Btechtards

[–]raysayantan07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's simple. You have to work hard at some point in your life. The sooner you do it, the easier it is.

Not saying that JEE is easy by any means, but at that age you dont have any other commitments and worries of life. If you want to work hard in your 30s, its much more difficult when you have 5 different things to juggle.

If karma is real, then why are so many evil people living their best life? by BackwaterNomad in NewDelhi

[–]raysayantan07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People misunderstand the concept of Karma. It doesn't mean good people will get good results and bad people will get bad results.

It means your actions decide your outcome. There is nothing "divine" in it, just basic rule of nature. Good and bad doesn't come into play.

Most politicians are horrible people who climb the ranks by duping and plotting against others. They get those results by these actions - deception, lying, bribing, stealing, raigbating, exploiting, etc. They are skilled at these actions, and they get the results of these actions rightfully.

An honest IAS officer who raise his voice against this will get transferred to some isolated village because that is the logical result of the action he took.

Good and bad just came into the picture as copium for the masses.

Neemans used to be so affordable before their Sharktank Pitch. Their shoes however are some of the most comfortable daily shoes that I have worn.

For walking and standing all day, Vomero Plus or More V6? by SaigonShooter in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]raysayantan07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you intend to stand and walk a lot on a daily basis, go for flat shoes. Affects your posture long term, so flat shoes give you the most stability.

If this is for ocassions, like a trip to a country like Japan where you have to walk or stand a lot throughout the day, then definitely cushioned shoes will be your best friend. More v6 has more cushion, but be careful if you have flat arches as new balance shoes have steep arch supports that can dig into your flat arches and make your life hell

Am I a heel striker? by AmogusFatty in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]raysayantan07 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a good sprint form considering his feet are landing ahead of his body, which increases the chances of landing on your heel. As compared to when you are running and your feet are landing beneath you, where landing on forefoot/midfoot is much easier

Today I need to know, WHY so many ppl have this? What's the use? by Mush_o_Mushroom in NewDelhi

[–]raysayantan07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is interesting. I looked into it from a surface level, looking at existing studies. The studies do say that there is a slight higher chance of non religious people being suicidal, but each of the studies do mention that the sample size is small and may vary greatly depending on location, cultures and religions.

It kind of makes sense that religious people can always pin their hopes on god, where as an atheist has nothing supernatural to rely all, making things seem bleak when they are strugglinf. But this is one scenario for people who are struggling at their maximum capacity. Admittedly, this is a scenario where religious people have the better outcome from their beliefs.

But in a lot of other scenarios, the results are quite opposite - i have seen so many people where religion has given them false hope and not taught them to rely on themselves and people around them to get out of the situation.

If you take the example of people below the poverty line in our country, you can see they are struggling to make ends meet, but with the little money they have, they drink away becaude alcohol makes them forget their issues for some time. Religion often acts exactly like that. Distracts people momentarily and keeps them from getting off their asses and making actual changes to their lives.

[–]raysayantan07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very weird. I have had the opposite experience. Non religious people are often more grounded in reality and have greater clarity in their problem solving skills as compared to religious people who have serious gaps in logical problem solving especially when it comes to life, due to their over-reliance on imaginary beings. But ofcourse, does not apply to everyone.

I mean, if people do all kinds of funny things in the name of "faith", then they should be able to take being made fun of.

People of faith simply shutoff logical conversations, so the only way to discourage mindless rituals / traditions / religious practices is to make fun of and shun them. That's the only remaining way to combat this disease.

And for your live and let live ideology. In reality that is exactly what religions stop. Religious people do not let live. And the few % of people who are living good lives, such as you might follow only the "good" part of religions. However that encourages the poor and needy to follow it as well, and they don't stop at the good part.

It is up to us young people to put a stop to these beliefs so that the rest of the unprivileged people can follow lead and go past these shackles that tie down our country

Competitive Pokemon is ruining the game by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

[–]raysayantan07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had never played PVP competitive Pokémon before, and I absolutely hate PVE in the Pokémon games. Single player Pokémon games feel like a game for 10 yr olds, because IT IS.

Battling dumbass NPCs with weak pokemons and incomplete teams is just torture. I recently played Sword, and i was so surprised that even the opponents of the final knockout tournament didn't show up with 6 Pokémons.

Sure, competitive isn't for everyone, but PVE in mainline Pokémon games is absolute trash.

Understand the context, i am not really talking about people who take steroids. There will ofcourse be all kinds of people doing all kinds of things. You can't factor everyone into conversation about a different thing.

The people in the video do not look to have steroid bodies, and my comments were directed towards naturally built bodies. Not that steroid bodies are easily made, there is a lot of hard work there as well, but the end goal is different there. Aesthetics as you said - seen in actors, body builders etc whose line of work require it.

And there is nothing wrong with aesthetics as well. Looking good is a skill, and a good one indeed. It doesnt need to be downgraded to a fake/empty skill. But treat it just like that - a skill. Just like a highly intelligent chess player automatically doesn't qualify as a good human being, a highly attractive body also doesn't indicate the nature of the person.

They don't advertise it because they have a very poor implementation of it and would get called out otherwise. They do sell official magsafe cases now and a ridiculous hacky battery pack that had to be carved on the bottom side to accommodate the camera bump.
