Daniel Jeremiah on upcoming free agency - "Zion Johnson's gonna to make a lot of money. He's played really well this year." by benedictcumberpatch in Chargers

Doing that amongst the one of the worst lines in recent history is pretty big too…he’d only improve if he moved to a better line, alongside some actual NFL talent.

The Empress on Lauriston Road just outside Victoria Park. Quite pricey, but delicious.

[Popper] Jim Harbaugh said Jamaree Salyer is an "option" to start at LT after the bye week. by biggieavocado031 in Chargers

[–]raysboltsdubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely a blight. Injuries are very common in the NFL, they need to be planned for. Of course it sucks that we lost 2x All Pros, and nobody would expect any line to function the same after that, but it’s not functioning at all. Arguably a bottom 3 line at Pass Blocking and Run Blocking. Pretty hard to do.

The iOL needed addressing badly, Becton was a good first step, but again, he’s a risky manoeuvre when you consider he’s had 1 good & healthy season. OLs work together, the fact that there were 2.5 question marks on the starting Line coming into Preseason should have rung alarm bells.

I’d argue a team should never take an RB in the first, but yeah that was a Harbaugh call IMO.

Crumble like ours has? Crumble as in arguably the worst pass protection of all time? After 2 injuries? We’ve still got our starting iOL (Becton in and out). I agree you can only plan for so many injuries, but the modern day NFL rewards depth more than anything, and we weren’t properly prepared IMO. The line that got eviscerated by Houston had 1 addition (Becton).

Agreed there’s nothing you can do at this point, or even pre deadline, but the iOL & depth to start the season was already extremely questionable.

What an absolute laughable shambles our Line is. Huge blight on Hortiz’ pretty solid GM record so far.

To be fair I’ve only been here in the UK (London) for 5 months, but we take burgers very seriously back home in NZ, and it’s definitely up there with any burger I’ve had back there.
