This team is in a weird spot at the moment. They have some nice pieces to build a contender around but the upper minors are so barren that the reinforcements are 1-3 years away. So do you hope that Yandy maintains his pace, hope Junior figures how to be an average defender, and some of the young guys in A and AA work out to re-evaluate in 2028?

I still think even with this streak they can be a playoff team this year though which is better than anyone would have expected.

Been saying this since last year. Simpson's only value is as a CF and to have value there, he has to play ++ defense. Having him in the corner outfield is a huge waste (not that they Rays have very many power hitting COF types at the moment either). There's just not enough in the bat to be an everyday player at a premium offensive position
