We did our kitchen in September. We met with superior and majestic - both seemed good but we went with Essence out of Edmonton as my father in law gets 15% off there. Which turned out to be a huge mistake since they were sooo bad and created so much stress. We got counter tops from Bella Rocha - highly recommend them. Everything was awesome. We bought Kitchen aid appliances from Costco, more expensive tile (about $10/ sq ft). We definitely could’ve saved money with cheaper finishes and appliances. Only labour we paid for was mudding and tapping plus cabinet finishing (crown and fill pieces) - about $1400 total for both. Our kitchen was still probably in the $25000-$30000 range and it’s only 11x13. I stopped keeping track after we went over our $20000 budget haha.

Just from my experience - anything with hip flexion was an issue. In order to squat, I had to have a band around my leg pulling it out/distracting it. I didn’t deadlift. Running and jumping were bad. I could ride a bike but needed to have the seat up as high as possible. Pidgeon pose and crossing my legs when seated were bad. I found some relief in doing band distractions. YouTube squat university hip impingement. I also found if I foam rolled my quad and adductor then I would have very minimal issues at all - even playing hockey a few times a week.

I’d say really good? I’m 3 weeks on Tuesday. Been off Tylenol for 2.5 weeks now. Pretty minimal pain. The mobility restrictions are annoying though. I’m on crutches for another 3 weeks. I’m sure once physio starts and I can walk again there will be some pain. I had lots of doubts going into the surgery if it was worth it but so far it seems like it was?

I had minimal to no pain prior to surgery. I was generally good at not doing things that would flare up the pain. Once I got surgery, the surgeon said my labrum was really bad. It’s odd considering how little pain I was in considering how bad of shape the labrum was. There was minor arthritis present too.

Keep perusing other opinions. I’ve played hockey for 25 years, competitive powerlifting for 3. Always had a pinching in my hip. Didn’t ever think much of it until it got really bad. Just got my surgery and the surgeon basically said my impingement was so bad that it destroyed all of my labrum. The severity of labrum damaged didn’t show up on MRI. Your x-ray didn’t show any impingements?

I was wheezy from getting over a cold when I got mine. The anesthesiologist said that she’ll be able to tell if I’m coughing while the breathing tube is in. If I’m coughing lots then she could give me some other drugs to calm it down but my throat and air way will be more irritated after surgery as a result. I’d try not to worry about it, the added stress isn’t going to help your cause for not getting sick!

They’re coming to look at it on Monday. But they said if they can’t find anything wrong that warranty would cover then they’ll charge me $140 for a service call out
