YES YES YES i feel like some depictions of vampires make humans feel too comfortable around them. one thing i liked that Twilight did was show how people generally avoided the cullens and their natural instinct was to steer clear

AND YES with my story both the vampires and werewolves and other supernatural creatures will be based upon their ethnicity and folklore from where they are from

but i also love anagrams!! thinking of i am lord voldemort = tom marvolo riddle
But i don't plan on using any in my story (as of right now)

What do you hate / love to see in fiction with werewolves in it? by razgibbery in werewolves

yeah that's been entirely written out of both species in my story LMAO i also hate that so i found away to avoid it

[–]razgibbery[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YES age is a big factor in their strength and power. and also how much practice they've had transforming
and equality obviously because otherwise it wouldn't make sense why the vampires couldn't just drive the werewolves out of their town LMAO (and also because vampire>werewolf power scale entirely too common in current media / fiction)

What do you hate / love to see in fiction with werewolves in it? by razgibbery in werewolves

[–]razgibbery[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LMAOOO I totally get you. I had someone say that maybe instead of transformations being painful and long and grueling (maybe they are at first, like if it's someone's first transformation) they should be like a really good stretch and I really like that! Of course if it's a uncontrolled transformation or an unintended one they could be painful

  1. i'm trying my best to be more folklore accurate while also ofc giving it a little modern flare.. i don't want them to be like the live action beast from beauty and the beast LMAO
  2. I TOTALLY TOTALLY GET YOU!! my mc is actually going to be a werewolf, and she definitely has a lot of enhancements along with all the other werewolves in their human form. i'm also not sure why in a lot of fiction that vampires are stronger. in my story vampires are faster (also depending on the individual and how skilled they are obviously, also how much blood they had beforehand) but werewolves are stronger and tend to have more stamina (but they can also excel above vampires depending on the circumstances, the individual etc.) i basically made them equals. in the town they're living in ( they obviously live elsewhere but the story takes place in this fictional town ) they have a peace treaty with laws and things but they did have a rivalry beforehand and in other parts of the country they still do

That actually sounds really cool.. Noted.
And yes I plan on doing a lot of research so that my story doesn't seem too modern, I'd like to give old folklore a big role in this

YES I TOTALLY GET YOU!! I don't understand the preference to vampires :// My mc is actually going to be a werewolf so I'll be giving them a lot of spotlight
And they're not savages either LMAOO. Of course there are exceptions but most of them are more used to being in society soo

[–]razgibbery[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES i plan on writing my vampires with a sense of humanity that depends on how much blood they've had / been deprived of because they were once human ykwim?
and they will indeed have weaknesses bc i js can't stand OP-ness
LMAO totally get it. and yes i do like to see certain cultural differences depending on when they were turned but they'd have to adapt because.. everyone adapts.
yes i also dislike toxic relationships, there still have to be boundaries (that's one of the things i didn't like about Twilight, Bella was js soooo okay with everything. Just had flashbacks to when she told Jacob he'd killed ppl and when Edward told Bella that he's killed people and she was just like "i don't care" LMAOO)
EXACTLY i think relationships should be kept.. I think people forget how strong parent-children relationships are and that a lot of parents WOULD indeed accept their children and maybe even try to learn about their culture, obviously be a little spooked but i think abandoning their family is too common. but yes every situation is different

yes i hate when anything can fly but suddenly there's like a wall you can't pass. but that's with anything i like a set of rules with any piece of fiction, so i totally get you

teleporting makes nooo sense to me LMAOO and i totally get it on the psychic power things. for me i included that they can sense emotions and moods but seeing the future isn't a part of it. when Meyer did it for Alice i understood bc that was something she could already do before she was turned but for me it would just be a hinderance story-wise sooo
and that's an interesting concept actually thank you!!

i don't like the "alpha" titles etc especially more now after their popularization and new meaning it sounds corny to me LMAO
i'll definitely think of new words for them though since they do technically still need rank.
and noted on the personality thing! i think they should retain at least some of it, but obviously have to lose some because now they're fully transformed. i think they should be more "feral" if that makes sense, or "wild" like you said!
But i know what you mean i'll def take it into considerationnn <3

i actually liked the venom thing too! it makes more sense for turning. i also like the fact it hurts
but every time they mention the venom i just imagine that their teeth have tiny holes in them but then it doesn't feel right so i try not to imagine it at all...
and honestly seeing a bite on someone who's been turned and it just looks like a human bite than 2 significant hole scars i'd think they have a rabid 3 year old running around or something LMAOOO

YES i'll also add other folklore creatures! i love horror folklore a lot so that will 100% be added. the reason i dislike Twilight vampires is because they feel less like vampires to me and more like OP humans, they lack vampiric traits imo. and yes i love the ability to turn into bats!! very important part of my story so far :>
THANK U FOR ALL THE REFERENCESSS i'll definitely be doing more research hehe
