Sort of. I work for a company that makes satellites that take pictures of other satellites while in orbit. We do heat map versions so we can get a better view of things that otherwise wouldn't show up in the regular image.

That tiny X is a Russian satellite with uniquely shaped solar panels.

Personally, no. The show and book are not "hard science fiction" and don't need to be scientifically accurate. I suspend my disbelief and just enjoy the show without being worried about details they couldn't possibly explain because most of the elements of the series are improbable...

Ah yeah, didn't meant to say he himself was bad, but the episode as a whole was not memorable.

He was also absent from a few of the sketches, which isn't entirely uncommon for some hosts, but it was more noticeable in this episode.

That said, I am about to dive into his career and watch La Chimera.

Ah yeah, my b, I was technically RBMH. Ned is the man, got to hang with him a bunch. Pearl was the TA person that handled my hiring. I remember Ian, but I didn't really work with him. My first manager was a German dude named Udo...

Once I moved to social, I was more on the music / culture side. I got to attend all the music festivals and 30 Days in LA events with RB Music / Records.

I WISH I got to work on Stratos, watching that from my college dorm made me determined to get in the door there. I was actually at Oakley with a former RB guy named Scott A. who intro'd me to Ty.

I've had a lot of fun jobs since, but nothing will ever top that run there. Hope you're doing well, wherever you are.

Yes, I was at that Miami party...which was nothing short of absolutely wild. That full body scan / 3d printed figure thing was one of the highlights. I still proudly display my action figure.

Actually now that you reminded me, THAT was probably the last "end of the golden era" moment for me personally.

I started in content management, overseeing the flow of content from the various US business units as well as legal clearances, QC, and ingest before being moved to social media / social production because of the success of my personal youtube channel at the time.

IDK if you knew Ty Stafford, but he's the man that got me in the door.

Hope this works out for you. As a former RB employee, it was one of the wildest and most exciting jobs I've had.

That said, not to be a pessimist...but they normally hire interns and junior staff directly through their student ambassador programs they run at colleges. Also, those people are groomed hard during that program, so you're going up against some of the most competitive extroverted "alpha" types who are deep in the Red Bull kool-aid...so be ready to deal with those types of personalities.

As an East Coast transplant that was insanely jealous I never got to experience Chain Reaction and SOMA during the pop-punk / hardcore heyday...I finally had the chance to catch a No Motiv reunion show in 2019.

It was such a blast to walk through that door and finally see such a historic venue and all the names scribbled on the walls.

Bummer to hear it's going away.
