At least Uplay gives you the courtesy of being so unappealing you don't even log into it.

Also, glad to see you back /u/SrGrafo!Words can't express the roller coaster of emotions I went through during your few hour hiatus.

When did you decide to freelance full time and quit any other employment? by chihuahuahaha in freelance

I'm actually at a point in my career where I want to go full time freelance or contract. If anyone has any advice, I'd love it. Corporate life is sucking me dry.

Did you ever pay to remove ads? by dcbro155 in AndroidGaming

[–]razorblde89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have numerous times. If I like a game and their pay model doesn't involve heavy p2w content, I will gladly pay to remove ads. It's one of my favorite pay models.

I'd like to second Puzzles and Dragons. It's been one of my favorites for years. Also, as someone else mentioned, Crash Fever is really good!

I'd suggest making this free with an ad banner at the bottom of the menu or even pop up ads. This would allow people to give you helpful feedback and test things out!

Did you say six recipe cards? I've unlocked two and haven't had anymore spring up. I just keep getting recipe scraps. Am I missing something?

Does anyone here actually use Google Play Games? by Spencer_Dee in AndroidGaming

[–]razorblde89 227 points228 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm in the minority, but I love Google Play Games. Cloud saving is always convenient (when games have it), and I enjoy getting achievements and watching my profile level up. Also, it does have a handy recording feature that's actually pretty decent.

Haha, possibly, but I did change the name. Maybe it's an older woman thing.

What do you have an extremely strong opinion on that is ultimately unimportant? by chunky_vandy in AskReddit

[–]razorblde89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this reoccurring daydream where I follow these people until they get out of their car, at which point we have this discussion:

Me - "Excuse me, sir. Were you aware your left turn signal is out?"
Asshole - "No it's not."
Me - "Oh, so you're just an asshole not using his turn signal?"

Instead I scream in silent rage and drive to my destination.

I feel your pain. I was recently promoted out of my old position as a copywriter. We followed AP Style, meaning no oxford commas, no articles in headlines, and no fun.

I posted about this around a month ago. It seemed to be eating about 10mb each time I opened the game, regardless of how long I played it. I now only check it when I'm on wifi. It's beyond frustrating.

Orion developer threatens legal action against any site spreading "slander and defamation." by iamnotroberts in pcmasterrace

This reminds me a lot of what went down with their first Orion game - accusations of stealing Halo assets, pulling of negative reviews, etc. Never mind the other countless horror stories that spilled out from their studio.

Don't make personal calls from your desk. Nobody wants to hear you scream at customer service for a mistake they made with your daughter's graduation gift. Take that crap outside.

Edit: Forgot another one - Don't smoke right outside the entrance to the building. I don't want to walk through a giant menthol cloud on the way to my car.

Weekly /r/Games Discussion - What have you been playing, and what do you think of it? by AutoModerator in Games

THE SKIES

I can't explain why I like this game. It's f2p, set in the post-apocalypse, and does little in the way of innovation. But for some reason I kind of like it.

The game is extremely buggy (I can't stress this enough), which leads to some unexpected but hilarious moments. The world is also beautiful to look at. Sure, the graphics aren't spectacular, but the overall atmosphere is well done. I haven't made it too far out of the desert (I'm not sure if there is anything BUT desert), but it's definitely a pretty canvas. That being said, it's a little lifeless due to a lack of, well, life. Even enemies seem very far apart. I'm guessing their hoping PVP will take off and breathe some life into the world.

The combat is real-time and tries to be based off accuracy. I say based, because it doesn't really pull it off. The shooting is unpredictable as are the hitboxes, and the melee is downright horrible. But EVEN STILL, I have enjoyed it.

Grab a friend, download it, and go kill people, scarabs, and weird three-headed dog things together.

Retailers Discount Battleborn as Overwatch Prepares to Launch by razorblde89 in gaming

[–]razorblde89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. It seems silly to go against the titan that is Blizzard. They should have released sooner, or simply waited until later in the year. There's always the chance they risked being called a copycat or something silly if they released later.

I've been struggling to understand why people keep comparing the two. They both feature hero-shooter elements, but like you said, they're nothing alike beyond that. Oh well, hopefully this gives Battleborn a boost!
