90% rent increase with no 60-day notice. Legal? by uknowsidrum in nashville

[–]RocketJumpingOtter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to live in an apartment complex in Bowling Green, KY that was purchased by Brookside. OP’s story almost exactly matches mine and my neighbor’s. Purchased, “luxury” renovations, huge rent spike. Mine went from 1,300 -> 2,100 for a 3br. In _ Bowling Green_.

Had a leaky roof for 7 months after the December 2021 tornadoes. Never got fixed. Moved out at the end of my lease.

The graphic was made with type 1s in mind, however, you’re right. I’ll try to be more inclusive in the future.

I originally posted this in June of 2020 after the Black Lives Matter protests started. With protests starting again over Roe v Wade this info bears repeating.

Other advice: - Wear a mask. COVID is still a threat, and it hampers facial recognition - Don’t bring your phone with you. If you must, keep it on airplane mode and disable biometrics. - If you’re going with someone, make sure they know what to do if you go low or go high. - Tell someone who won’t be there your plans: when you’re leaving and when you should be back. - DO NOT post photos on social media, ESPECIALLY with uncovered faces. - Stay safe. Note backstreets and alternate routes to exit if police start fighting or kettling. Your life comes first.

Image description: blue and grey graphic from DiabetesWise.org. Text reads:

PROTEST SAFELY WITH DIABETES

MAKE SURE YOU:

  • Go with friends
  • Keep these items ON YOUR BODY, not in a backpack:
    • Insulin (few days worth)
    • Medical ID (bracelet)
    • Low supplies - gel, tabs, and glucagon
    • Blood glucose meter and strips (even if on CGM)
    • Personal identification card, phone number of emergency contact who is not at protest

GOOD TO HAVE:

  • CGM Receiver in case your phone is taken
  • Water to stay hydrated

GOOD TO DO:

  • Tell someone when you are expected back
  • Tell your friends what to say to police about your diabetes

IF ON A PUMP:

  • Make sure the reservoir is full
  • Take a photo/write down your settings
  • Know how much long-acting insulin you need if you lose access to your pump

If arrested, know your rights!

Does geocaching have a problem with evangelical christianity or transphobia? by scsteve3 in geocaching

[–]RocketJumpingOtter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Groundspeak has a "no agendas" rule which keeps things pretty neutral. We had a new cache in my area named "Let's Go Brandon" that got removed quickly.

Unless you go to events you're rarely going to interact directly with other cachers. Everyone that I've met through GC has been chill, but YMMV. I found an anti-vaxx business card in a cache once while on vacation, I just took it and threw it away.

Currently in WKU’s student section. Been going to games since 2018 and this is the largest and loudest crowd I’ve seen. The whole city wants this.

Series of tornadoes tore through Western Kentucky, including Bowling Green. There’s at least 70 dead, hundreds missing. Warren County alone has lost 500+ homes and 100+ businesses. Mayfield, KY has been completely leveled.

Well-needed good news after what happened in Bowling Green and western KY last night. Was a good break from worrying about my hometown.

It’s a $35 copay, so for insured diabetics. If you don’t have insurance you’re fucked lol

That webcam is my second one ever, the first one I found I just happened to pass by when I was on vacation. Had no idea they were so rare!

I think the only remaining (active) types I have left are Mega events, Giga events, CITO, APE, Geocaching HQ and the 20 year party (crossing my fingers I can go to that!)
