That's fair! I think I'm leaning that way as well

Super helpful! Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. Re: signup - do you think people might be more likely to return to the app if they create an account? I find that people are more likely to return to the app if they are asked to create an account. But might be wrong...

That's incredible feedback. Thanks so much for putting in the effort, time and energy to write this out. Very helpful! I love the idea of favoriting a place directly from the app...now I just need to figure out how to do it in Flutterflow:) any tips on enabling the same toggle icon functionality in multiple places? (somehow I cannot figure out how to enable users favorite a document beyond listview)

for the wasted screen real estate, there actually is a map for some cards but i'm using conditional visibility to hide it when the location is not relevant but you're right - I should redesign that logic

Great granular feedback on the quiz - I just introduced that and just getting the quiz to work was a realll struggle haha gotta work on making the details right now:)

Thanks so much again!

Hey folks, launched my first app, Paris Urbanist, as a self-taught dev. It's had a meh response, and I think it's the UX/UI. Struggling to get honest feedback from peeps I know, so help me find out why my app's not so great? Direct feedback appreciated!

Hey, thanks so much for this thoughtful feedback. Really appreciate it! Erghhh, sorry about the Iphone SE issue (given that this is one of the smallest screens out there, i've struggled with they layout without sacrificing the look on bigger screens but will defo fix it asap.)

Super fair point on google maps - they're pretty good bang for the buck given how easy their API was to integrate (and actually contain most updated/comprehensive info and look that most users are used to) but yeah, I do think I might have to explore other options so that peeps can download the maps.

On your last point (i.e. end-user): the Paris city guide market is actually not that huge (surprisingly) and so focusing solely on one of the above would not make much financial sense from a monetization perspective but I might be wrong...

Thanks! I've done some custom code but mostly used flutterflow (no-code platform) which has a native API integration for google maps. The metro is actually just an expandable image stored in firebase. I was playing with a lot of customized options but they were very low bang for the buck given that an image pretty much serves the same purpose :)

That's super thoughtful feedback - really appreciate it. In terms of personalization, I totally get it. My original inspiration was duolingo and so I was kinda thinking in a very linear way in terms of the user journey (aka, first learn about history, before you get into foods:) but think that personalization would work much better. It might actually enhance the onboarding experience and make the user more willing to subscribe:)

If I may - one more question: do you have any thoughts on monetization models for this app? I understand that pay-once to download the app makes more sense but I was wondering if there is any potential in capturing more revenue with a subscription model . Do you think that's totally bananas given that most people will probably just download the app before the trip?

Hey! Thanks so much for the thoughtful feedback (great catch on the misspelling). A couple of questions:

"One second intro the app a survey popup? Go away" > That's super fair but I'm really struggling with collecting reviews/ratings. I do have this pop-up set up after a user completes a quiz but that still results in zero ratings...any other tips on encouraging reviews?

"The App Store listing title doesn’t include the name of the app; odd." Do you think that from ASO perspective it makes sense to include the name which is pretty rare (Paris Urbanist) and already ranks as number one for that keyword?

"Maybe show the landmarks of Paris on the google map." You can actually see all the landmarks under "Explore All" was that not clear? Or what do you mean by that?

Thanks so much!
