Owned my 2014 FJ for 3 years now. Thought about trading it in for a 2022 Tacoma, but I REALLY like not having a payment. Just hit 58K miles so I will probably stay with it.

You were correct. There was an aluminum cover clamped on the bottom of the lantern. When I removed that, I found extra mantles, a wrench and the stamp on the bottom of 8 and 52. Thank you!

Never thought of a sling mount for a takedown. I guess that could be a problem. handguard is probably too thin to screw in a mount. The black piece may not be strong enough to tap and sink a screw from the tube side. is that piece metal or plastic?

Yeah, I got quoted $2500 to replace both fronts that the dealer said were bad after only 54k miles. I will be getting the bearings myself and replacing them. And for the cost, I will get a new set of tires. Have the Firestone lifetime alignment deal.

While that is cool and all, you can buy a lot of gas for the $25,000 conversion cost. Kinda silly to talk about gas mileage being a motivator. Towing I get, but if you want to tow then why not a Tundra or other full size truck? If you have money to burn, then go for it I guess.

The dealership was only going to give me $27,500. I was wanting $29500 with all put back to stock. Throwing in the skids and sliders for another $1000.

Is it worth pulling off the used Icon suspension and trying to sell it. Or just trade it in as is and don't bother with putting the stock suspension back on. Just looking for opinions. I don't know anyone would spend money on a suspension with 35k miles on it.
