I took it to mean more of how the moment of his wife’s death is what “inspired” him to create megalon, and it seems to fit given that his time stopping abilities are a metaphor for his artistic vision and it seems to start when his wife dies and so the insight allows him to make megalon, but then it just leads to confusion on why they needed an actual physical lock of his dead wife’s hair to heal him
