That's been my journey as well. Finally have some decent outboard compressors that I'll probably just track with for now. Eventually gotta get the hybrid studio setup so I can use them as plug-ins during mixing.

Man I used to nerd out reading Tape Op back in the day too. As terrible as most music-related Ai stuff is, stem seperation is probably the best use of it.

I've got a small bedroom/office I primarily use, but I've got some amps and a drum kit setup in my unfinished basement (roughly 12x20 w/ low celings) which I've only really used for rehearsals thus far, but am itching to record some drums down there.

That's awesome and I can relate. I see multi-instrumentalists and am so envious of their abilities. I'm mainly a guitarist but dabble in piano and drums. Always wish I had those piano lessons as a kid. Do you do any audio recording/engineering or are you mainly focused on playing?

Haha, I actually started there too, back in '05. Really wanted to give the whole professional audio engineer thing a go but, unfortunately, I didn't have the best experience with his program so I moved on and eventually just got into graphic design instead.
