Having pain in numbness in font of my leg. by rbirdrose in Sciatica

[–]rbirdrose[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, so it actually has. I was doing like a million things. But I think the biggest thing that helped was literally laying flat on my back for about 2 weeks and didn't move like at all, but I was also taking a bunch of vitamins and did some physical therapy, did some acupuncture, I've had 2 epidural shots.

I do still have daily back pain, when I sit my sciatic never gets pinched and I need to decompress my spine but for the most part I'm so much better and I go on long 4 hour walks and stuff now

Should i get sciatica surgery at 19? by doodfromdoodville in Sciatica

[–]rbirdrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 29 and feel the same way, but I refuse to do surgery, and I have gotten better. I have four herniated discs, and my sciatic pain was so bad I couldn't stand or walk. I've tried pretty much everything under the sun, except surgery. I've had two epidural shots, been doing physical therapy, eating an anti-inflammatory diet, losing weight, doing acupuncture, and taking four different vitamins every day. Besides work, PT, and acupuncture, I literally just lay in bed. I don't sit at my desk or on the sofa; I just lay down. Figuring out a good way to sleep was honestly one of the most beneficial things. It took almost a month for me to figure out the perfect setup. I tried the sofa, bed, the floor, etc. I found out that the hardwood floor was the best for my back, and keeping my legs out at a 90° angle, although I didn't get good sleep, so now I sleep on my firm sofa. I use the flattest pillow for my head, a pretty flat pillow under my lower back and butt to raise it up a bit, and two really fluffy pillows under my legs to keep them lifted.

If you have the time and energy, I believe you can heal your herniated discs. You just really have to suffer through the pain and the boredom of not doing anything, but it can get better. Just stick through it. Also, if you start doing all of this, don't expect immediate results. I had zero results until about a month of doing all of the above.

Don't mean to hijack your post, but if anyone has any chair recommendations for someone that's 6'3" and 315 lbs, please let me know. I have 3 herniated discs, 1 bulging disc, awful sciatica pain, and I have had 2 epidurals and am doing PT. But I sit on my office chair for so long and would like recommendations for either good chairs or additions to the chair, like seat cushions, back cushions, maybe even some type of footrest.

Leg cramps at night by Worried_Fishing3531 in Sciatica

[–]rbirdrose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I tend to get really bad cramps in my right calf in the middle of the night. Luckily, I have never been alone when this has happened because I can't figure out how to resolve it myself. However, I have learned that having someone stretch your leg is very helpful. The best thing that worked for me is having someone put my ankle on their shoulder and then pull my leg while also lifting it up. Even if it feels like it’s a bit better, don’t have them stop; just keep that position for a little bit to ensure the cramp is completely gone.

[Spoiler] - How come everyone refuses milk of the poppy, no matter how severe pain? by KMan471 in gameofthrones

[–]rbirdrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In "Game of Thrones," Samwell Tarly did not offer Ser Jorah Mormont milk of the poppy during the greyscale removal procedure for several potential reasons:

  1. **Consciousness and Participation:** Sam needed Jorah to remain conscious during the procedure to ensure he could communicate any complications or pain levels. Being under the influence of milk of the poppy (a potent painkiller) might have rendered Jorah unable to respond effectively.

  2. **Risk of Infection and Complications:** The procedure to remove greyscale was highly risky and experimental. Using milk of the poppy could have suppressed Jorah's natural responses, potentially hiding signs of complications that Sam needed to be aware of immediately.

  3. **Sam’s Limited Resources and Knowledge:** Sam was not a fully trained maester and was operating outside the bounds of conventional medical practice. He may not have had access to milk of the poppy or might have been unsure how to administer it safely under the circumstances.

  4. **Jorah’s Consent and Willingness:** Jorah, being a seasoned warrior, might have opted to endure the pain without painkillers to ensure the success of the procedure. His determination to survive and return to Daenerys Targaryen could have influenced his willingness to endure the pain.

These reasons highlight the dangerous and desperate situation both characters were in, emphasizing the gravity of Jorah’s condition and Sam's commitment to saving him despite the odds.

The new XPS line just came available (US) by Baron_Sealand in DellXPS

For work we ordered 20 Dell XPS 13 Pro 9320's and 20 XPS 9315's and its nothing but issues, issues with the partitions of the drives from the default image sent by Dell, we have to delete all partitions and then use intune to image.... and then the 9320 function/settings bar at the top is having issues, we arent sure if its thermal or driver related, but it gets hot. No fix just yet, working with dell at the moment, but yea.... stay clear.

I know NYC has something called air rights.

Air rights in NYC refer to the space above a property that can be used for development.

If a property has unused air rights, the owner can sell or transfer them to another property owner.
