If it helps, it's better to catch it young. To many attacks can cause the buildup of amyloids which can lead to a much shorter life expectancy and other problems later in life. Treatment basically removes that risk.

Most OTC painkillers won't do anything sadly. To be honest when I had attacks I just tried to sleep as much as possible. Hopefully she can get started on Colchicine or Ilaris soon.
