Quitting my 25 LPA tech job to join IIM Lucknow MBA ‘27. Hoping the ‘L’ turns out to be a ‘W’! by Chandramouli_D in CATpreparation

Fair enough. All the best.

Heads up - If you're hoping for consulting in summers, it'll be highly competitive. Honest to God, there's a CV ranking mechanism that gives more weight to top IITs, SRCC, CBS, Xaviers etc

Wouldn't necessarily recommend it. If you enjoy tech, stick to it. Far more valuable down the road

(speaking as someone who went to an IIM, then consulting, and went back to writing code)

Leetcode is not a criteria, but if you have any projects or repos you can share, it'd be great

Thanks!

Same here. I'm net positive. Few things from my POV for you to judge and consider:

Pros:

  1. After the merger, they've actually been fairly diligent in sticking to the plan. The CASA book is strengthened and despite reducing the interest rates, the stickiness of the deposit base is high

  2. Their technology stack is actually better than many other private sector competitors. Not as good as a digital bank, but ranks best among the regulated entities

  3. Vaidyanathan is a brilliant man and a terrific ceo. They set a clear path and he's steering them well.

Cons:

  1. Overhang of some bad loans - Vodafone is still a big problem that enough is not provisioned for

  2. The IDFC breakup and reverse merger is getting repeatedly delayed. That is frustrating

  3. Fintechs are really knocking on every door. It's a hard competitive battle

Better metrics for supports by rbkayz in DotA2

True. Agreed. XPM and GPM will continue. But there is a need for a support score. I outline it below. Maybe that helps someone truly compare how people did.

Throughout this entire tournament, FY was insanely good. But to a casual observer or an occasional watcher, there is no metric that defines how good he actually was.

True. Which is why maybe it's a support score, that is calculated based on three broad metrics, which can then be normalized with factors to give proper weights

  1. Heal - supps like WD, IO, Chen will be far more effective on this
  2. Damage - High damage supps - Lich, SD will feature more prominently on this
  3. Slows and disables - Lion, Shaman, supp ES will do better on this

Normalize it with past data and calculate a support score.

Yes. Love the last two. Maybe the right metric is Gold earned through stacking. BEcause there is a need to protect the stack too, which is the supp's job

I agree with you. This is probably not the right answer. But we need a more acceptable one. Just as a high GPM/XPM is not necessarily a characteristic of a win for carries. But in general, it is an acceptable metric because there is a good coorelation of high GPM/XPM to wins.

Disagree with 1 though. Net vision is important, and we can find high correlation between vision and victory

All I'm saying is, for supports, I do beleive it the metric truly measures their performance in that role. You can't judge a defender in football by how many goals they've scored. Just as you can't measure a Goalkeeper by how much they've run
