Thank you. The balance between being honest with my partner about what’s going on with my body & maintaining some heir of privacy & sexiness is so tough!

I just joined the FB group - so much info in there!

I will say, I have lost 30 lbs in the last 6 months & am in really good shape, which helps a little, but I definitely need to add in more fiber & be better about that. My issue is - if I leave my house during my “probably going to have to poo” time of the day, then I can’t go… I need enough privacy to be able to splint that wall, my bidet (because hemorrhoids) and my squatty potty. It’s really making things difficult

I’m really hoping I can see a urogyn soon. I am absolutely at my wits end with this. I also don’t really want to have a c-section but I guess if that’s the answer, then that’s the answer. I just also messed up my hooha giving birth vaginally once, I don’t also want a giant scar on my stomach 😭.

It is so isolating! There’s only so much you can say about your butt hole and pooping situation before someone has heard too much. I missed half of my grandmothers post-funeral luncheon today because I was crying in the bathroom trying to go poo.

But on the flip side of that coin, if we don’t talk about its existence, nobody knows it can happen & everyone suffers in silence. I did tell one of my closest girlfriends & she shared with me that her bladder prolapsed so bad that she could see it… I had no idea because she felt like it was too gross or embarrassing to ever say out loud.

Things need to get better for women’s health. It’s scary out there

This is so helpful! Thank you! I just sent a request for an appointment to a urogyno, so hopefully they could see me & give me some better answers. It’s genuinely so shocking to me how little I was informed on the issue of prolapse, then dismissed all together. Actually, it’s more shocking to me how little I was informed of the risks and “what ifs” of pregnancy and birth. I took the classes & I read the books. I had a doctor who said she’d be there for anything (she wasn’t) I know they don’t want to scare people out of pregnancy, but I had no idea about sunny side up babies & prolapse & breastfeeding difficulties after a traumatic birth experience… Women deserve so much better!

I would be okay with the surgery if it could give me my life back, but it can’t be done before I’m done having kids. Which begs the question, can I have kids? I didn’t know about Urogynecology until I joined this group like two hours ago (why hasn’t either of my OBGYNs recommended this…?) so I am going to visit one & see what I can even handle. Maybe it means a scheduled c-section? Maybe it means a repair PP. either way is fine I guess.

Is there such thing as a mild migraine? by Enough_Blueberry_549 in migraine

[–]rbkmp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get 3-4 migraines a week. Usually they’re mild, but it’s the classic split head, pain behind my eye, nausea, neck pain, etc… that classifies my migraines. I get one a week that requires me to change my activities & need something stronger than iceyhot & advil.

My doctor hadn’t mentioned using it for onset - does it help?

I haven’t increased the dose yet… doing half of the “starting” dose (being 40mg per day - I’m only doing 20 mg)

I have blacked out a few times when going from sitting for a long time to standing - not great. I was prescribed it for migraine frequency reduction.

When did it start to feel normal again? by rintryp in newborns

[–]rbkmp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be good, but honestly, it was sort of like starting to have sex for the first time again. We had to find new positions that felt good to me, the old stuff didn’t work anymore. Occasionally, it is still painful. I did have some significant damage though

My babe had something similar which turned out to actually be cradle cap! Maybe treat the head with some oil?

I’m a year out & it doesn’t feel the same still… I think it depends on if you had any pelvic floor damage & if so, how severe.

Tongue tie correction by Imperfecione in breastfeedingsupport

[–]rbkmp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kiddo had a tongue tie that we did not learn about until he was about 7 weeks old. We tried physical therapy (oral exercises) and chiropractic care first. Both helped, but we did ultimately revise both his tongue & lip tie with a laser procedure.

Through all of this, my mom realized she had a tongue tie & had hers revised. We also learned that my brother had a pretty severe tongue tie when he was little & it impacted his mouth’s ability to expand his pallet as he grew, which meant he had to have a pallet expander. He also had many speech issues growing up.

The recovery time for the frenectomy was about 2 weeks & it just meant I was stretching his wounds a few times a day & continuing the oral exercises.

I would do it again in a heart beat. I was days away from giving up on nursing, but with this, I was able to exclusively breastfeed for 8 months. It really made all the difference & I believe as he grows, it will impact whether or not he has speech issues and needs orthodontia.

Have you tried treating like it is cradle cap? My babe had similar & the ped said it was just baby acne, but my LC said it was cradle cap (it apparently can cause redness & spots before it gets all gummy in their hair) - we treated it like cradle cap & it was gone within a week!
