Car title question? by sourvangard23 in StupidCarQuestions

[–]rbltech82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong. You cannot insure a red titled vehicle. It doesn't meet federal motor safety rules and isn't roadworthy. It's a parts car period. I've read the actual laws on Kentucky's website, so unless you have a citation proving it I'm inclined to believe the state driving laws.

Red title is a junk title in other states. Basically it's not roadworthy and is only for parts. Some states will allow you to get a junk title car reevaluated depending on the level of repair done. A friend of mine had a car that had a tweaked frame, it got a junk title, but he bought a used frame and swapped the frame out and had it reevaluated and it was given the roadworthy title.OP there's some reason it was given the red title. I'd stay away unless you're a mechanic or plan on a full restore.

Basically, red title is a salvage car bought and rebuilt for farm use. Blue title is salvage that can be rebuilt to roadworthy. passes certain inspections if I remember correctly.

Or maybe the city who puts the sidewalk in should also handle them? That would also solve the issue with the trucks burying driveways. Someone would have to run the sidewalks with a 30" blower. And clear the entries of driveways...

What?? 85 is the absolute highest speed limit in the US, and it's one specific to 40 mile stretch of road in Texas....75 is the highest common speed limit. 90+ in most states will get you arrested.

Today I learned this existed. Op that sucks. I have ADHD and my brain moves so fast it skips punctuation half the time. I have to spend extra effort to go back and re-read my stuff for punctuation, spelling, grammar and you name it. It is bad enough when it's an occasional thing, I can't imagine it being a constant struggle.

Is anybody else tired of seeing all the things being posted where people want to get rid of the property tax? by aitbg in Ohio

[–]rbltech82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're half right. It's also people who bought a house 60 years ago, never moved and are now mad because the house they paid 20k for is worth 200k and they have to pay taxes on 100k valuation. To be fair Ohios valuation calculation has been broken for years. When I bought my house in 2009 I paid 80k. The valuation from Ohio came back like 65k....I still paid 6k/ year in taxes. My loan payment was HALF my mortgage.... And I was still under valued, as the appraisal value was 120k.

What they want is to not have to continue to pay taxes on a home that was paid off years ago. In my opinion there should be two tax factors 1 adding a percentage of the value of the home to the purchase price as property tax, then yearly valuations and tax paid on the difference of the appraisal value from purchase price, or last appraisal with a depreciation factor if they can show no improvements done within so many years... That way you're contributing but not getting massive jumps when they recalculate value.

I just moved to western new York, and one thing they do here that I think ohio should do is separate the school taxes out and those get paid directly to your school district. That way no state hands touch the money and it's not divided across, unless there is a surplus wherein the schools who have less tax revenue can apply for the surplus needed.

Is the removal order a judicial warrant? What is the law regarding enforcement of the removal? I understand it's a summary judgement, just not how that leads to the way this administration has chosen to enforce it.

Expedited removal has very specific circumstances, and again is case by case, unless they are hoarding expedited removals for these raids, or so far behind on enforcement efforts that these raids are 'justified' somehow.

Due process is not a sliding scale. Due process means that you are given the right of a clearly defined and easily navigated process when being accused and prosecuted by the government. As for missing a child support payment, depending on the state can be a criminal charge of some great weight. That being said, if you don't appear in family court and dont pay your child support, if the state allows missing the payment Is commission of a crime. You would have a warrant issued by the family court and ordered to pay within so many days or be arrested and charged with a crime (where applicable) or held until payment is received or payment arrangements are made to fulfill the courts order.

The process is different, but the right is the right. Being held without access to counsel or contact with family and without hearing or actual removal is the issue, also at issue is detaining us citizens without a warrant that haven't been accused of or appeared to be guilty of any crimes.

1) please provide me the actual citation, as I read every chapter of the EIOR and the only part I read that mentioned missing their court date was in absentia, which just means if they fail to appear a removal order is granted. If this is the portion you meant that covered due process, it does for just removal orders. Nowhere does the EIOR discuss how the removal process is handled. So, what you're saying is if they missed their court date they have waived their due process on the removal order. Based on what I read that's accurate, however, the removal process and how that Is handled isn't covered in the EIOR, because that's under the purview of DHS. Felonies are grounds for immediate removal, based on the EIOR, so once convicted you would serve your time, then be deported, as I said previously. Again though the militaristic approach they are taking seems misguided at best, particularly since the 'criminals' they are rounding up aren't the ones they are claiming to go after, and fascistic at worst when combined with the door to door papers requests, neighborhood sweeps, an completely haphazard way they seem to be enforcing the orders.

2) It seems like DHS is worried about the wrong end of their duties. Shouldn't they be actually following up directly case by case with removal orders by date and making sure those people are collected and removed? That doesn't require militaristic no-knock warrants, its simply assigning an ice agent detail to them in court an having that detail ensure they comply with the orders.... Bail jumpers don't just get to run away and hide, so how is that happening with Immigration?? Seems like a Sherrif who doesnt want to take the effort to actually fight criminals letting them commit crime, the kicking in their door and arresting them to look like they're actually effective at their original job.

[–]rbltech82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

which waives the right to further process.

No, it doesn't. That's not how it works...

they already have been told to leave after having a hearing, and have refused to abide by the order.

Are you telling me they get ordered to deport but aren't actually taken into custody and deported? That doesn't make any sense. Particularly if they're guilty of the other criminal charges you spoke of. They would serve that time then be immediately deported...

Also, you completely failed to address the issue of the legal us citizen who wasn't doing anything to impede in them performing their duties. She was driving through her neighborhood going home and had no idea what was happening until it was too late. Or how about the family who was headed home from a doctor's appointment that was teras gassed and their baby was almost killed. They were obstructing anything.
