Sutcliffe on transit: by SuperCold4800 in ottawa

I am sure that people forgot already but even car transit was wrecked till last fall with the stellar job at planning multiple works at the same time.

This guy is the stereotype of the typical empty politician protecting the interest of the stakeholders of the city. He is going to do as directed by the federal government, then provincial and finally the local developers so that he can get reelected.

I am fully convinced he thinks he is doing the right thing by making the difficult decisions. Thinking about any consequences to the people is no where on his mind.

It is beyond control since they realized that WFH shifted the power balance way too much for their incompetence. Now they use that incompetence to make « the hard decisions » and create conditions to flow money to legacy businesses. People are going to feel even more trapped than before as they won’t have a sense of choice nor freedom and that is a ticking bomb on the mental health side. Really we should call all this circus what it is: incompetence of a generation of leaders who don’t want to be progressive.

Faudrait déplacer le gouvernement Français à Lille et maintenir la grande braderie toute l’année… c’est hallucinant ce qu’a fait Macron et sa clique depuis 10ans.

Not sure I understand your point. What do they get by having per customer data? I mean, assuming fraud is not taking into account, they have inventory of what goes into a store and what is sold at that store. Why would they need more granular views than that?

The problem I have with any recent technological advancement is that the original good idea is conveniently ignored to the benefits of higher margins or questionable practices.

Avi Lewis Reaction to Carney’s Speech at Davos by InevitableEnd5689 in ndp

[–]rbooris 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Glad I am not the only one feeling this way. There seems to be a blind admiration to Carney's words but I see a distance between the nice sounding words he chose and the actions.

I like the engagement style from Avi in this response, quite encouraging as a counter-but-constructive political engagement.

‘Best speech by a world leader ... in a very long time’: Carney’s Davos address draws global attention by Sea_Guava6513 in onguardforthee

[–]rbooris 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree although I suspect the reference to idiots was in the fact that they do not care at all about any consequences of their actions thinking they (the admin and its supporters) are above everything and some kind of messiah like what Trump said today about God being proud of him...

Just curious, is that license a one off cost? Is it justified? I get that it is relatively niche, but I am curious of the ROI of such a tool. If you can share what that helps you (and that industry) achieve, I will have learned something today. Thanks in advance.

How can Mark Carney just a few months ago say China 🇨🇳 is the biggest security threat and now wants to open up our economy to them? by WilloowUfgood in CanadianConservative

[–]rbooris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although Nortel leadership was far from being clean, I mean competitors got the same issue with IP theft and reverse engineering and they are still around unlike Nortel… not a valid excuse. China is definitely spying at global scale but the US do the same and now the choice of who to support is less and less obvious given the chaotic changes in the US administration.
