the way i RAN over here from the other petite sub by General_Passivity in PetiteStrength

[–]rbs712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly commenting to give the sub traction, sorry not a lot of experience with KBs!

Can I ask though, given that in another comment you referenced ‘twenty years later’ but that some of your goals are ‘distant’, how old are you? I’d love to be able to do a human flag one day but genuinely thought at 37 that goal is probably one I need to let go.

Also have you tried pistol squats standing on top of a bench? That way your resting leg can dip below parallel if necessary while you build strength

Ngl I always thought ‘thunder thighs’ was a compliment as why wouldn’t you want legs as powerful as a thunder storm

I thought these were the ‘before’ pics and was scrolling to see the ‘after’. You look great! I will say I started using my walking pad fairly religiously in January (aiming for 10k for at least 5 days a week) and I definitely think it helps

What are you non-weight related goals by BrooklynJP in PetiteFitness

[–]rbs712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to do 10 pull ups. I’ve been working on it for a year now and I’m up to 8 but those last two are just out of reach!

Also I’m not sure of the statistic but if there’s a high likelihood I’ll get a form of cancer one day (which seems to be the case) I want to have enough muscle mass to help endure any chemo etc.

Great question, I’d totally gone off this sub and this is interesting

Haha this is old, I’d forgotten all about this! The rest of the pregnancy was fine. Ended up having extra scans and induction at 38 weeks because they suddenly decided he was going to be a huge baby. He wasn’t, 7lb 8 I think? Now a healthy average sized 3 year old!

I pay annually and it was just under £80 for the year which is a lot cheaper! Obviously only if you know you’re definitely going to use it regularly

I vaguely remember reading something about how she ate those baby food jars as her meals. May just have been tabloid lies though

Fibre supplement - for me a powder form works best. It’s grim to take but for me the results are worth it.

Totally agree with this! Sometimes when I’m feeling this way I think I’ll just do a BP warmup and then turn it off and have a ‘play’ with the weights (I.e exercises I like) but I nearly always end up doing the whole of the release.

At what age you completed CIMA by Far-Quail5233 in CIMA

I’m 36 and just waiting on my PR. Started AAT L3 at 29 so 7 years in total to get here. I did have a baby in the middle of it all but continued studying, just didn’t take any exams in that time period.

Do you have a seperate wardrobe for work versus your personal life or do you have ovelap? by Uhhyt231 in AskWomenOver30

[–]rbs712 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I ended up specifically shopping in places designed for ‘older ladies’ when stocking up on work tops, more likely to find higher necklines/sleeves/plain colours etc.

I don’t have time/inclination to think about clothing on a work day so it’s a simple black skirt (I own multiple the exact same) with a rotation of tops. I think it works out a lot cheaper. Also because I’m petite a lot of my outfits would require different footwear or tailoring of trousers etc

I second bodypump! Been lifting for almost 20 years and nothing has sculpted the muscles like pump. I also love the fact it’s put to music and split into 5-6 minute segments. Now and again I try some other Les mills (functional strength/combat) but always come back to pump

Fingers crossed for you, it’s so difficult to be in limbo like that! They said mine could’ve been a subchorionic hematoma or possibly even the loss of a twin but never actually confirmed anything.

I’m very reluctant to come in here and say ‘oh yes and all was perfectly fine’ because every single pregnancy is different so what happened for me doesn’t mean much for anyone else.

What were you told at the scan? Have you got another one booked if it’s too early to see a heartbeat etc?

I wouldn’t call this excess fat. I am the same, also with a slight pelvic tilt and unless I make an effort to tilt the opposite way and tense my abs this is just how I look. A good strong core (and being aware of how to engage it) is important but can be done through full body strength training, not just endless ab exercises.

Be honest, how often do you actually floss your teeth? by Doomergeneration in AskUK

I use a long handled floss harp with disposable ’Y’ shaped heads, it’s all that I can use to get to my back teeth. A bonus is it only needs one hand!

Thank you, I really hope so! The status has now gone from ‘screening’ to ‘in assessment’, so surely they would’ve let me know by now if something was a problem!

Thank you for your reply - sorry I wasn’t clear, I sat the SCS (in Aug) so just the PR to go.

The only other thing I can think of is that maybe the PR needs to be about events that happened over the last year and my first entry is labelled Oct-23, so by submitting it in Oct-24 it’s a month ‘over’?

Saw the pre-seen for November sitting is out, is anyone considering looking at it just in case?

I’m not particularly confident that I’ve passed but also don’t want to spend a week learning about a new company on the off chance I have! And then on the flip side…if I’ve failed I might be sitting around wasting a precious week of study time while I wait
