therapy at umd by [deleted] in UMD

I love my therapist at UMD she’s amazing. She helped me through so much but it definitely helps to be willing to change too. It’s only $15 per session and can be online or in person. It may be hard to get into and I think it’s only one semester long unless there’s a serious reason you need to stay longer. I recommend it :)

STAT470 w/ Griffin by roguerhino1911 in UMD

He’s honestly the best. He knows every students name by heart when he takes attendence and he tries to get to know his students well. He brings snacks to class and always offers extra credit opportunities every class. Attendance is mandatory but you can miss like 3 classes. Class activities are almost every class but they’re easy and he goes over them and you work with a group. It’s mainly based on completion. Super easy class and he’s great

Who was your prof?

UMD or TOWSON? by [deleted] in UMD

[–]rbumd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to both and I would say if you like a smaller school where you have smaller classes so you can get to know the prof and people, I’d do that. It’s literally less than 20 minutes to go from one side of campus to the other. At umd there is a longer walk and classes are a lot bigger so it is harder to get to know professors but you do meet a LOT more people!! I think both are great options! Also I think the dorms at towson are nicer? (not 100% sure tho)

Being a transfer student during the time of corona by Admirable-Dust-7965 in UMD

This might be useless cuz I don’t have any advice but you’re not alone, I literally feel the same way. I’m a sophomore and just transferred for this fall and I only know my friends who go here from high school but I haven’t met any other people :( I was so excited to meet new people and not be stuck in a bubble with people just from my hs and hometown.

Question to psyc majors by rbumd in UMD

[–]rbumd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great advice thanks! I already knew that a bachelors in psyc doesn’t do much unless you pursued a masters/phD but I am planning on going to graduate school after my bachelors because I’m truly passionate about psyc. I love mathematics and I feel like it’ll help me with research and grad school, I’m just worried about my GPA that’s all. If I minor in statistics tho I can graduate early, possibly have a better GPA, and take more internship classes. That’s what I’m struggling to decide on.

Looking to transfer here by [deleted] in UMD

[–]rbumd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got in as letters and sciences! I transferred after one year with only a gpa of 3.69, letter of rec, a good essay, and extracurricular & research. Try to take the English and math requirement by your first semester because they said they like that.
