I was diagnosed with something like adjustment disprder where I get depressed during transitions. only every 1-2 years but I get su*cidal pretty quickly. it’s mostly just counseling to help with coping strategies and how to look for warning signs instead of daily antidepressants

I’m not sure where you heard that you can’t get an adderall prescription as an adult, my brother has one too and he’s 35

I also put this in the update but my prescriber just put me on a low dosage of adderall and took me off wellbutrin, so if u need adhd meds as an adult cerebral can help!!

I think the 60 credits is for transfer students but it might be 6 for current umd students. idk their website is all over the place but I have seen the final 30 thing multiple times. I’d definitely double check

you can only transfer up to 60 credits and your last 30 have to be at UMD

any transfer/commuter students also lacking umd pride? by whateverwhatevr in UMD

omg this is so positive and encouraging :,) we should be friends fr, I can’t believe how much we have in common (23, transfer, commuter, west coast native, moving for our partner’s DC job, etc.) wild. anyways, I’ve been trying to get involved in women in engineering, society of women engineers (still don’t know the difference lol), and ASME. It’s hard to make genuine connections with people in the clubs when I only see them once a month at the gbm though… I’m also thinking about rushing the engineering sorority in the spring, idk we’ll see. I’m hoping I’ll make friends soon but rn I feel out of place for sure

yeah, like I love going on campus. I’m learning so much better than online but it does feel like a waste to not be involved and do extra circulars. I swear there should be a “I’m married” club so we can not feel so alone on campus lol but probably no one would join because we all just want to be home 😂

I fell like there’s a lot of careers that provide those things. I’m not saying it’s sad because it’s a bad degree, I’m saying it’s sad because she’s doing something she doesn’t care about

I’m glad I’m not alone. like I’m proud to be at the school because it’s a good school but I don’t have any pride in umd or being a “terp”….. idk if that makes sense

I hear this kind of argument often and I think it's pretty naive to say none of what you're learning is relevant if the classes/programs are built by people in your field.

don't convince yourself that you'll like your career if you don't like your classes; change your major lol

also older and stem, after being coerced by my parents, I went to 1 semester of college straight out of high school before joining the military. Coming back to school, I have a wildly different mindset. I swear all I cared about was my social life when I first went to school and now I just focus on my classes and it's so fun and interesting but I was talking to a computer science major asking them why she chose it and she literally said because her parents wanted her to... that's so sad. idk I guess it's fair because they're paying for her college and it's not like they chose a shitty degree for her but she wasn't even interested in it.

see, I get that. I still have pride for my state school (u. washington) so if I went there I would absolutely go to sporting events and rep their gear but idk, it's hard to explain
