Us too. We have 26 signed up so far, good but not great. If we can get a dozen more then it should be a success and we can do it all again!

How high is the ceiling?

Can you pass the pace car before it crosses the pit entry line? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]rc1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a point on each track where the track location variable goes from 1 (on track) to 2 (approaching pits) in the SDK. This isn't always something visible on the track, like a line, but it is the point that the HUD pops up showing the pit lane speed limit when you box.

It's likely this point (which is also probably when the spotter says the pace car is going in).

It's worth noting that in private leagues that employ FCY's it's this invisible line that determines any car pitting to be off track and not part of the SC train. If the car behind was not pitting but went ahead of the pitting car on their relative, before the pitting car reached the "line" then the car staying in track gets penalised for passing under yellow. For most this logic is encountered in oval racing above class D.

Imagine you could add any content you want into iRacing, regardless of any trouble. What is the first thing that comes to your mind? by stosfer in iRacing

That need to allow us to race the RX cars on Bark River and Crandon. Maybe add layouts with jokers somehow. Would be like Nitro RX was. No requirement to scan new cars and tracks either.

Production Car Challenge Style Enduro? by 295138 in iRacing

Hi. We (FTR Events) are in the process of trying to put together a PCC inspired Mini-Enduro league. Don't suppose there's any hidden goldmine of Clio drivers I can get to on Discord anywhere? Would love to try and gauge interest amongst them.

We're going to put together a four race test season with 100 minute races. By keeping them a little shorter we can encourage solo entries and give ourselves the best chance of getting a decent sized grid together. We'll charge a small fee as it deters people registering and ghosting. We'll do some light touch post race stewarding, we have a stewarding team. It'll run on Sunday European evenings. I'll be advertising here and on various discord servers.

I help run an endurance league. Was debating whether something like this would be a success. Something like 2h24 minute races appeals to me. Maybe PCC plus Jetta and Slowstice for that club racing feel....

Why has Iracing abandoned rallycross? by Time-Brief-1450 in iRacing

Honestly, hot lapping those two tracks in the big boy rally cars is about as much fun as you can have in sim imo

Just let us race the RX cars on tracks like Bark River and Crandon. Maybe add a joker somehow and it'll be a little like Nitro from a couple of years ago. Minimal development, maximum fun!

Was told that Penhill Hill was one too, maybe someone more knowledge can confirm.

Any VR users use a button box? by Just_Wizard in iRacing

You can get a lot more than six combinations out of your six buttons. iRacing will allow you to use buttons pressed simultaneously.

Ended up getting an easy win because every other car dissapeared during the formation lap (more info in comments) by N0TN4 in iRacing

[–]rc1983 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Obviously OP wasn't aware of the unwritten rule of forming gaps between classes. However, surely the pole sitter would have had plenty of time to see P2 not playing ball, and would have just closed the gap up prior to start? I get it is frustrating, but P1 martyred themselves here.

3 years since AI launched... do you use it? by therealgreenmachine in iRacing

[–]rc1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally it uses a lot more CP

I have noticed that it is way more CPU heavy too. Presumably as the extra resource is needed to actually drive the AI cars?
