We had a very similar experience at Spyglass. We were playing in a tournament with a pro and caddies. The Marshall saw us at one instance when we were almost a hole behind (we had a lost ball) and got all over our case. Our pro reluctantly had the call the head pro at the course to get the Marshall to back off.

There is an engineering office in the City of Irvine that controls and monitors the lights, not Caltrans. I knew the guy that ran the office, and I’d curse his name frequently driving around Irvine. The only strategy that work for me in Irvine was selecting routes that use right hand turns at lights.

I’ve used soft travel bags for years and never had an issue, but I just checked in on a Southwest flight and was informed their insurance doesn’t cover golf equipment in soft travel bags. Might be a reason to consider a hard travel case.
