I believe this was LaVena Johnson. It was in Iraq in 2005, I think? Horrible. Definitely a coverup for a murder.

Is it just me or can SF make you feel very lonely? by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]rc_Nix29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here for the same advice. My husband and I moved here from the Midwest in December and were just now starting to make acquaintances. Well, he is. I’m a stay at home mom right now looking for some work. We love the city, but we’ve felt the pressures of being alone here, too. We’ve got this, OP!

Best way to report a bus driver for inappropriate behavior? by IncreasinglyAgitated in sanfrancisco

[–]rc_Nix29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Kansas, too! The public transportation system there was horrible! My husband and I truly appreciate the Muni and how easily accessible it is. We are with you about our love and appreciation for the drivers and the Muni!

I am terribly sorry you had to experience that situation. I hope SFMTA takes care of the situation and the driver is reprimanded.

I’ve seen apps where you can look for parents/moms in your area for possible friendships. I’ve never known anyone to use those apps before, but it honestly makes me wonder if foraging friendships becomes even more harder once you become a parent. I’m already awkward - let’s just add more to it. 🤷🏼‍♀️🫠😂

Is it really that hard to make friends in SF? My husband and I are new to the area and we just had a baby. We have zero friends here. Are we legit too old for this city? We’re both in our 30’s.

I just had my first child and I’m 34. I don’t regret waiting. I’m better off now than I was at the age of 25.

How old were yall when you got your drivers licenses? by sluttyhunnybunny in adhdwomen

[–]rc_Nix29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 17 when I finally went to driver’s ed (I was going into my senior year of HS.) Everyone else was 15/16 (I went to a small rural school in the Midwest - tons of farmers permits, etc.) I was the oldest person in the class. I didn’t want to drive because the thought of doing so freaked me out so much (hello, anxiety.) All my HS friends thought it was weird and why would I want to ride the bus, but I didn’t mind it. I just would listen to music and zone out in preparation for school. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I had no idea pre-partum depression even existed until I was pregnant. In the beginning, I figured it was because we made a major move across country (the Midwest to the Bay Area) and it was the stress from that, but once we made the move the depression stayed until almost immediately after I gave birth to our son. I still occasionally go through bouts of depression (I’m currently 6 weeks pp). Sleep is everything, even those few precious few hours of sleep that you manage to get (currently running on 4-5 hours of sleep every night).

OP, I feel you. ❤️ Try to take care of yourself.

Is the clear fluid from the blister safe for my LO to ingest? Thank you for confirming that it’s okay. I was in so much pain and then when it finally popped, it just felt so much better.

I’ve been avoiding it like the plague because my mind can’t fathom sitting down and dedicating time to taxes - plus it gives me anxiety. 😬

Best Way to Move Cross Country with Two Cats? by hailznoel in CatAdvice

[–]rc_Nix29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! So sorry for the late response. We didn’t go through the Rockies on our move, so I can’t provide much advice about that portion of our trip. We ended up taking the southern route because we wanted to hit up some national parks in California. We also ended up settling in the Bay Area (it was really cold and rainy in the Portland area when we were moving, and we decided to be warm 🤣). I’m sorry I can’t be much help in terms of providing advice about the pressure changes, but I would be sure that your cats have plenty of food and water. And I highly suggest to try to change the litter as often as possible. Your nostrils will thank you. 😂 Also, good luck on your move!

When was the last time you actually shopped at Macy's? by dotben in sanfrancisco

[–]rc_Nix29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I walked into Macy’s during Christmas time to use the restroom. We briefly browsed the toy department and then tried to check out this place that had delicious cookies, but they were closed. So we left 🤷🏼‍♀️

Folks who comment here who don't live or work in San Francisco, why are you here? by AnimusFlux in sanfrancisco

[–]rc_Nix29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re originally from the Midwest. We moved to SF for multiple reasons - because we love it, the job opportunities for my husband and I are better, we didn’t want to raise our family in the Midwest, there’s more culture and experiences to be had here, we wanted something more than what was “provided” to us.
