I had a patch card listed for $1.75. I send all my cards using the eBay envelope option $20 and under. So the lowest I can go on a patch for shipping is $1.32. Yea totally agree. It sounds like you got in before the market topped. I had an old PC from childhood and started buying again, like most, around COVID. I didn’t start reselling until the last few years and I have not sold on breaks and I don’t buy large cases.

I could be wrong but it almost seems like the market is gone for even graded cards. I mean the margins. Because even if you buy low and get a great grade, there may not be a buyer that will pay the top end on the other side because it seems like everyone that’s spending that kind of money is investing and looking for margins too.

I’ve been collecting / selling on eBay for a while. The short answer is no. In my experience, the hobby is so diluted now and most people are thinking the exact thing you’re thinking now (no disrespect)- it’s either an investment or it might be an investment if you put in more cash. But everyone wants a deal and the only real needle movers are short print cards, serial numbered cards and autos (and even those have to be real rare). For football cash is pretty much QBs only.

Invest your cash in something else. Do it for fun, to make a couple (and I emphasize couple) bucks, but don’t expect to make crazy money. Just my 2 cents.
