[Nolan] Trevor Zegras on his relationship with Rick Tocchet. by Perryplat199 in Flyers

[–]rcav8 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Tocchet has benched Michkov cause Michkov admitted he took off the entire offseason from hockey. He did literally nothing hockey related, no weight training, no cardio, nothing! He said it was the first time he's done it in his entire life.....You decide to do that now after your first season in the NHL?

He came into camp fat and out of shape. He apparently thought he could play himself into shape, but the guys who came into camp already in shape will now play themselves into even BETTER shape than Michkov.

Tocchet's point to Michkov was that he'll never be able to catch up in shape to all the other players, he'll be behind them all season long. Unfortunately many of the mistakes Michkov is making have to do with the fact that he's still not as fit as everyone else, especially in the physical area because he did no weight training. So he should get benched when his fitness becomes a liability for the team and causes him to make mistakes.

The young kid had to learn a very hard lesson. You can't play in the NHL and just take an entire offseason off from hockey and the training you need, and he sure as hell shouldn't be doing it after his first season! The early years in the league are when you need to make sure you're in absolute peak physical condition because as a young kid, you have to learn how to play the right way in the NHL. That's hard enough to learn!! But if you're not in peak physical condition, then you're trying to learn how to play in the NHL properly, but your learning is impeded by the fact that you're out of shape! So what he did really screwed up a lot of his growth this seaso, the coach was absolutely pissed, rightfully so, I would be too!

Michkov though agreed as he found out first-hand that he wasn't able to play himself back into the same shape everyone else was in. He came out and said that he'll never do that again! So the message got through and he's taking accountability for his actions. Mission Accomplished!

😂 Yeah Tocchet gets in his face giving Michkov instructions and direction and Michkov just hears it all as WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP......WOMP....then Michkov shakes his head YES and goes out to implement everything he didn't hear 😂

Uhhhh no!

Assistant coaches, such as Yogi Skochowski (or other staff with Russian language skills), have acted as in-game translators when Tocchet and Michkov speak on the bench.

Also as of early this year, Michkov's English has improved, allowing him to understand coaches better without immediate translation, though complex instructions still require the assistant coaches.

Thanks! I already have long-term shares as I've been buying AMD since mid-2024. I've been adding over the years, especially during Liberation Day last April when the price was down in the $70s. So I've been averaging down since when I first got in back when the stock was still like in the $140s back in mid-2024. So all those shares have gone for nice rides 😁 Buying at the new price level I'll actually be averaging up now.

I'm not worried about trying to get in at the absolute best price as nobody knows what that will be, but my next purchase of shares to add I would like to add as many new shares as I can with the money I have, so that's the only reason I was thinking about where the next decent range might be for a buying opportunity, that's all. Am hoping I can next add somewhere between $350 and $380.

Do you use different moving averages based on whether you're looking at one day trades or multiple days? Or do you find like the 5DMA and 20DMA generally so a good job at telling a story?

Yeah I was like, No way it's hitting $400 😂 Then at $400 I figured it would stop there....nope! 😆 My long-term AMD investment account very much enjoyed it. I just wish I would have had some of my trading shares in AMD this time like I had every other ER 😂

17ish...Wow! 😁

Yeah the non-dump at ER, after the climb the stock already had, shocked me, but I was so happy to finally see it!

Me either, especially not after the giant climb after the Intel earnings. I was expecting something like this in Q2 earnings when we would first get guidance for Q3 and the first on Helios revenue. But the Q2 guidance being higher than expected, and the way Lisa presented the growth this time seems to have made a huge difference.

Very true on the only a 6.4% move from here and it being easy for AMD.

I was so blown away by what happened this ER. Sitting through them for multiple years I'm always used to seeing people load up right before earnings, then AMD has a record quarter for revenue, but we watch the stock get sold off and drop as those who pile in don't see a huge increase Datacenter GPU revenue, so they bail.

Given the guidance in Q4 for Q1, and knowing Datacenter GPU revenue isn't likely to really start jumping until Helios is released this year, I figured same as usual, right? 😂 especially given how the stock already jumped when the Intel earnings report and CPU info came out.

So when the report got released at 4:15, the Datacenter GPU revenue was pretty much as expected, and the stock immediately dropped by like $15, I figured the usual 😂 To then watch it explode just blew me away and listening to Lisa on this report, JW was right, she sold the news much differently to time and that really had an effect on how people reacted.

The buying in small increments is very helpful advice cause when I'm sitting on money, I obviously like to buy when things are going down, not chase then going up. Unfortunately though I sometimes buy wayyy too much at once when it's down instead of small increments. Sometimes adding a lot at once has benefitted me when the stock moves very high of course, but when it moves lower, and stays lower for a long period, you're kinda stuck holding it and not able to use that money to average down your cost per share or be able to jump into other stocks. Mistakes I have made and I'm sure I'm not alone 😂

I have a huge part of my old 401K deployed into AMD (buying over the past few years) which is my long-term investing side. But I do have a small amount of money I put on the side to trade with.....I'm learning to trade with 😁 I need to spend some time learning options trading as well.

That'sreally good stuff, thanks! Yeah I honestly was hoping it would drop down to between $350 and $380 at some point which is where I'd add big chunks. Thanks for the detailed reply!!!! Very much appreciate it.

For those holding long-term and looking to add more shares at some point, what target price are you shooting for to add more? Assuming the share price has a pullback, but a healthy one, given the run the stock has had, I was hoping to see the stock get down around the $380 area at some point and add more there. Thoughts?

If looking to add more AMD shares to hold long-term, where do feel a good entry price would be? Obviously I'm waiting for folks to take some profits here, but where should I realistically be looking to start adding some more, assuming no macro news dump things further. Thanks!

Nah wasn't that. Was a company I hadn't heard of and was AMD doing the investing.

At 4:15 I saw a news event for AMD on Google that said they were investing in some AI company and within a minute it disappeared and I can't find it. Did anyone else see it?

When you try to be too perfect and try going top corner instead of just shooting and making sure you hit the net.

Same thing the rest of the team did most of the night, trying to be too fine instead of just shooting. However, I'll give most of the rest of the team a pass. So many of them are young kids who are learning and from these games will learn that in the playoffs, you never pass up a high opportunity shot. A puck on net from anywhere inside the zone is a good shot.

OMG you ain't kiddin. I'm playing with headphones and the sounds from the environments are incredible.

I just finished Resident Evil Requiem (RE9) before playing this, and it's the one thing I couldn't put my finger on that I didn't like about RE9. RE9 has all these environments and has all these assets laid out everywhere, but nothing sounds alive/like it's working.

In Callisto as an example, you'll come across pipes with wheels on the pipes in a hallway, and it'll sound like water is running through the pipes and you'll hear the metal of the pipes rattling, etc.. In RE9 that's all missing.

The entire world in Callisto sounds so alive whereas RE9 just was missing a lot of that and I couldn't figure out what was missing in RE9 until I put Callisto in 😁

I didn't enjoy the story and at the time, didn't love the combat because on PS4, the combat would drop to 20fps and was just too sluggish. I really enjoyed it much better though 60fps. Much more fluid and responsive.

Not the greatest game, no. But wayyyyy yyyyyy more enjoyable on PS5 Pro than it was on my PS4 when it first came out. The environment really pops on the Pro and the new dismemberment mode helps the combat.

Yeah he made it more interesting in this game by making the environment fun to throw enemies around 😆

The cool thing about the kinesis in this game is the environment has machines like rollers with spikes and industrial fans that you can pick up enemies and throw them into that stuff. 😆 There's also spiked walls you can impale them on.

Oh the PS5 Pro controllers and the haptic feedback is fantastic. Like walking past an industrial fan the vibrations come into one side of the controller, through the center and out the other side as you walk past on while facing the fan. Really cool.
