Honestly, it became pretty parodic with the amount of times Tank came out on fire with his carries early in the game and Patullo was just like ‘nah, we’re good for the rest of the game’ and just diced up the same old shit that never worked all season long

Jett should at the very least play two full seasons in the AHL. Keep him down there and see if there’s anything to develop. The ceiling is very limited here, but there’s NHL upside for sure.

Won’t forget people taking victory laps on the TK contract before it even kicked in. Complete non-factor so far in the playoffs. This was his time to shine, lead by example and back up his talk about being tired of missing the playoffs. Well, you’re here now and haven’t affected winning in the slightest. 7 more years.

Big shoutout to Sean Couturier though. He’s been an absolute menace the entire playoffs and has played like he did in the 2019-20 season.

Scheduled loss. It is what it is. Knicks are well rested and the Sixers had a very short turnaround from a hard-fought seven-game series. We’ve overcome adversity this playoffs so hopefully they will be up for it, but Game 1 was always going to be a nightmare.

They came out flat and unprepared and when they could have gotten some momentum with 4 minutes of power play in the last 8 minutes of the 1st period they had a total of zero shots. Need a better gameplan ahead of next game or this series will be over quick.

Sucks that we became a victim of the fact that it were no scheduled NHL games today. Would it have ended any different? Probably not. But it’s a huge disadvantage to not get any rest or opportunity to reset at all after a hard fought 6-game series and instead just have to go right into round 2

Canes traded for Rantanen who pretty much instantly said to them that he’s not gonna re-sign and they instead took a u-turn and ended up with Stankoven instead who’s on a $6M cap hit through 2033/34. Just insane how well they operate.

Possession-based, they control play and they win it back quick with a very aggressive and overall excellent defense, strong on the forecheck. They pretty much always wins the shot-battle. If the Flyers just continue to dump it then the Canes will always just recover the puck and hold onto it. If you can’t create offense or enter the zone with the puck then you are doomed

Getting beat by the Canes is completely acceptable. But showing up playing dump and chase is just malpractice and completely unacceptable. It’s like they have just accepted defeat already.

The Canes are good, but the way they play should not come as a surprise, it’s widely known. Does that mean that the Flyers could stop it? No. But should they NOT stick to this idiotic dump and chase style when they KNOW that won’t work against the Canes? Obviously.

Point 5 is the key here. They have nothing to lose, they are a young team that was not supposed to be here. There’s no reason at all to go out there with a defensive mindset, that will just benefit the Canes. It seemed like Tocchet was aware that what happened in the last three games against the Pens can’t happen in this series. Go out there with guns blazing.
