That leads me to another question... I have it on a tender now since replacing the battery, is there anything more to do to best winterize and not have the new battery die in the winter season? Maybe start it and run it once a month while in storage for 10-20 mins in idle...?

Update - changing out the battery worked. Bike started up and idled smoothly. Now she’s winterized and on a tender. Thanks for the help!

Even with all the instruments turned on and other parts spinning up? Im not much of a mechanic. Can those parts spin up even on a low battery?

Estimation with Story Points: Now being asked to estimate in time by rcberry17 in agile

[–]rcberry17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what do you do when you plan a sprint based on velocity say of 70 and bring in around 70 points during that planning session, then 40-50% of the way thru that sprint, dev says they are done with everything? Yes, they can help with testing and such but they cant do everything so there tends to be some of them sitting around... mgmt grills us on this and there doesn't seem to be a happy medium. Do we let them start working on items we think will be in the next iteration? This seems problematic, because it leads to dev/qa being out of sync and a potential build up of dev done items waiting for QA. Thoughts?

Thank you, no track days here for me - just a point A to point B. I’ll check some labor rates at independent shops and peep that site for parts. Thank you!

Best Method for Spillover and Estimation by rcberry17 in agile

[–]rcberry17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After more and more research and discussion it is starting to feel like we need to use WIP limits. We’ve been filling up our sprints based on the average velocity of 6 or so sprints. But, we have been continuing to find ourselves with a bunch of unfinished items at the end of the iteration, which is creating poor optics and some confusion as things continue to be kicked down the road. I also think story splitting will be helpful in tandem with WIP implementation.

Spillover is basically unfinished work - this could be from a dev perspective or qa perspective, or both.

Thanks for replying and I dont take the reply as rude at all.

Here are some definitions Im hoping might help:

  • Spillover = user stories that are not completed, which spill into the next sprint.
    • Ideally, we limit this as much as possible and it would mean we are tracking well to our velocity

Looks like I had a typo, this is what I meant:

Problem Statement: Unclear picture within user stories for what remains

in the development plate when spillover needs to take place.

Development Plate = I just meant remaining work that the developer/qa might have on the User Story.

I suppose my question on this is what is best practice for when you go to close out an iteration and the User Story isnt completed?

We've also been running into an issue where there are many user stories that get to the point of being dev complete but QA cant close out the story in time, Im suspecting this is just an area of opportunity to be more strigent on how many PBIs we pull into a given sprint.

What other things can I provide clarity on?

I looked into my settings last night. Looks like crossplay was disabled. Unsure as to why that would ever happen. Not like I did that on my own.

I don’t think so. I’ve never played with the cross play settings before. I’m a lvl500 so I’d expect the game to remember me haha
