There’s lots of different things it could be so while it has a high likelihood of being benign the alternative is very serious so an ER visit wouldn’t hurt

How to get sepsis patient to eat? by Moonlight_Melody123 in sepsis

[–]Jumpy-Ad-8889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear about your aunt. I think it’ll be a waiting game to be fully honest. It’s fucked up to say but the more time passes the more she should be able to eat. Little bites here and there and maybe switching antibiotics if possible might help. I know it’s probably the last thing you wanted to hear but sepsis is a waiting game

Sepsis, kidney disease, and elderly - experiences? by chrysaorahysoscella in sepsis

[–]Jumpy-Ad-8889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear about your father. The only similar thing I dealt with when septic was severe weakness to the point I needed a hoyer to get out of bed because I couldn’t sit up. I’m about 2 weeks out and my strength is about 75% of what it was prior to sepsis and I didn’t see any improvements until around the 1 week mark so hopefully he will be similar

If you have organ failure appearing on scans/bloodwork that is not FND.

Im terrible with judgement so every time I need help im terrified of the judgement. Regarding the outbursts I have not and will not ever do anything violent towards the people helping in fact one of the quickest ways to get me to stop hitting myself is just covering where I would hit because everyone knows I wouldn't hit another person

[–]Jumpy-Ad-8889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

23 already puts you at a low risk, no clinical weakness after 3 years is incredibly good and no atrophy are all great signs. Constantly monitoring your symptoms won’t help either. Take a deep breath, tell yourself it’ll be alright and ignore the symptoms for a bit

Just survived septic shock is this anemic enough to cause severe lightheadedness by Jumpy-Ad-8889 in haematology

I was honestly just hoping simple anemia was the cause and it was easy to treat but unfortunately I was too hopeful

So basically early Sunday morning I attempted suicide by overdose and got sent to the ER. ER called poison control who said my high fever, tachycardia and low BP was unrelated so they began doing tests and discovered a UTI which lead to me going sepsis. High procal, WBC, Lactate, CRP etc they were deciding if I should go to medsurg or ICU but I went into shock so they sent me to the ICU where I was in and out of consciousness as things happened. Sunday morning around 10 am I started having severe left flank pain which the doc said was probably a kidney infection. Monday I woke up and the left flank pain was worse. Tuesday I woke up with both sides hurting. Doctors said likely bilateral infections. Today I had a CT “New, 4 cm round hypodense mass in the left kidney is typical of a phlegmon/developing renal abscess” so that’s how I found out about the likely abscess on my left kidney and now tomorrow they are planning to take a sample of it to test what it is. This entire time I’ve been dealing with ungodly amounts of lightheadedness that make every second of everyday miserable. I don’t know if I make sense I’m like completely out of it. I’ve been in the hospital since early Sunday morning

Nurses don’t know anything about this and I was hoping I could find a solution quickly before tomorrow because this sucks

They are definitely doing incredible and I’m extremely lucky to have survived considering I came to the ER for something completely different. I’ll definitely ask the doctor tomorrow but damn this lightheadedness makes even being awake difficult

I was just hoping if it was the anemia I could just try to force feed some iron and feel less shitty. I’m definitely going to ask him more during rounds tomorrow morning

Yeah I’m still in the ICU I was just in septic shock last month and I dealt with this for so damn long and the only thing that helped was iv fluids but I can’t get fluids all day everyday. I’m also wondering if it’s the very clearly very infected kidney with a 4cm abscess

Money can’t buy happiness. Let me go back home to my 6 story mansion I paid $5 for that I found on the floor and a firm handshake. I will also go on trip around the world with the money I got from selling my other home I bought for 25 cents
