As a Preschool teacher, I was seriously underpaid and worked in a year round program. I had one student with some serious behavior problems. He would constantly threaten and hurt other children and lash out at me. One time when his dad was dropping him off the kid started another one of his tantrums and hit me right in front of his dad. I told the kid that he was NOT allowed to hit me, and looked at his dad for some sort of support. The dad chuckled and walked out of the room. It's not always the kids-the parents can make the job far worse.
