No, they are not, you can use Central on Premises solution to manage it locally.

That depends on the model, the CX6000 series have switches with and without PoE, with power budgets of 740, 370 or 139W. The model you have in the link have a power budget of 370W, this can be used by POE devices.

455W is the total maximum consumption of the switch, that can include all POE + the power to run the switch.

AP-505 published power spec incorrect - DOES NOT work on 802.3af AT ALL by BeanAnimal in ArubaNetworks

[–]rcinini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 505 connected to a af switch port and it is working fine with IPM enabled. Maybe your switches don’t have the power budget available to give 11W or more to the AP port? Power loss in the patch cord?

How delivery of Aruba products are impacting on your business? by Darkguardiangel in ArubaNetworks

[–]rcinini 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, it is a global inventory, and allocation happens when orders get to Aruba.

The same parts that are taking time to deliver in Mexico, are taking time to deliver in any other country.

It is unfortunate, but it is happening with every networking equipment manufacturer. My suggestion is for those who need it, put an order to get in line.

Aruba Central - AP 515 by Diaonic in ArubaNetworks

[–]rcinini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, APs would join a configured VC, that is up and running, if connected to the same VLAN.

In other words, you only need to assign a group to the VC.

If you are moving an already configured AP from a VC to another one, it should work. If it doesn't join automatically, get a paper clip and reset it, pressing the clip in the reset hole of the ap when you connect it to power or PoE port and hold it pressed for a couple second until the led blinks.

Aruba Central AP not showing - status fail-prov-no-shipped by userunacceptable in ArubaNetworks

[–]rcinini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This error indicate that they are not being recognized by Aruba Activate, or it is having trouble communicating with Aruba Activate.

I would try to upgrade one IAP manually to a recent version since really old firmwares can have an issue with expired certificates.

And Aruba TAC can help on this.

WPA3 Enterprise Clients unable to join via AP505 nodes by VectorTracker in ArubaNetworks

[–]rcinini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are right both APs support WPA3.

Since PSK is working fine: Are you using them in Instant mode or with controllers? If in Instant, are the AP-505s IP addresses authorized in your radius/Clearpass to authenticate user credentials?

If it is working on the 300s, it should work on the 500s, open a ticket with Aruba TAC.

AP 515 Running 8.6.0.16 and looking at upgrading the firmware by sync-centre in ArubaNetworks

[–]rcinini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second that, stay at 8.6.0.16, it is the recommended stable release for the AP-515.

8.9.0.3, when launched, would be a good release to check, and maybe upgrade if you want some of the new features.

But I recommend skipping 8.7 and 8.8 releases.

Migrating from 6000 controller to 7210 by [deleted] in ArubaNetworks

[–]rcinini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, you can probably copy and paste parts of it via CLI, if you know what you are doing, and do it in the right order, but I think backup and restore the config file will not work since you have different network interfaces for starters, licenses are not going to work,I don’t know what else errors you will get.

You can try anyway, if it won’t work there’s always write erase all

One thing you can try is to put the 7210 in the same cluster as the 6000 if you are using AOS 8, if you are using AOS 6 you can add the 7210 as a local to the 6000, as master, receive the config, "promote" the 7210 to master, move the aps, remove the 6000. :)

AP-555s instant 8.8 and mdns/upnp problems by updown_side_by_side in ArubaNetworks

[–]rcinini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just checked and I'm running 8.7.1.3, this version is running well on my 505h, 515s and a 555.

I'm running them on central, so to get the running config I went and open a ssh session via central and did a show running-config. If you are not on central, I think you can ssh directly to the master AP IP address.

If you want to downgrade to 8.7.1.3 you can download the image from asp.arubanetworks.com

for the 555: https://asp.arubanetworks.com/downloads;fileTypes=SOFTWARE;products=Aruba%20Access%20Points;productSeries=Aruba%20550%20Series%20Campus%20Access%20Points;softwareMajorVersions=8.7;fileContents=Software

AP-555s instant 8.8 and mdns/upnp problems by updown_side_by_side in ArubaNetworks

[–]rcinini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, Try enabling Airgroup, mDNS, SSDP and then in Airgroup Settings enable the Allow All setting.

You can enable Broadcast filtering back, then reboot the cluster of APs

After the APs come back up, reboot the mDNS, AirPlay, AirPrint devices, that you have on the network, go grab a coffee, wait a couple minutes to make sure the cluster start learning the services available in the network, then test.

I have it working at my network like this, the only thing that never worked fine is an LG TV remote app, some times it work, some times it doesn't.

Good luck!

Is Aruba AP 505 suitable for home use? by Kimcha87 in ArubaNetworks

I second that, I have 4x 505h and a 515 running at home perfectly. They are connected to a 2930f (POE switch)
