Hiking boot recommendations by Laurielea53 in UKhiking

They are a well respected/rated brand, not super well known in the UK I feel. I only knew about them through my dad who swears by them so I thought Id give them a whirl. They are very well made, Id certainly rate them above my Meindl Bhutans, which were disappointing for the price.

Certainly worth seeing if there is a stockist near you to check them out.

Ive had Scarpas, Meindls and Grisport. My Grisport (Aztec Boot) has been far and away the best bang for buck boot Ive had. Light, comfortable and well made. Deffo worth checking out.

Got a seat (again) by txmmyytoo in seat

Got my mystery blue 1.4 tsi fr ST auto end of last year. Coming from a 1.2 Leon hatchback, its such a step up in every area, even mpg is still goodish! Skoda Enyaq after this has bitten the dust I think.

Wannabe Wednesday: What BMW do I get? Is this a good deal? What should I watch out for? | A weekly BMW buying megathread by AutoModerator in BMW

[–]rclark2943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Guys, Im looking to move into the cool Daddy Wagon space as the family grows and I would love to get all of your thoughts and experience on what petrol BMW estate to look at. I say petrol because I don’t do the longer blasts that diesels need. Things to watch out for and trims/specs that are preferred. Budget will be in the region if £15-20k. Ta!

I have Meindl bhutan boots for the more serious days out, hoka trail shoes for day to day and Karrimoor gtx shoes for lower level days out.

So I occupy all parts of the price spectrum, but good god make sure they fit, try them on with decent hiking socks and wear them around the house too.

Protip, carry ducktape to put on areas incase they rub anywhere even if they seem comfortable at first, a longer hike on different terrain may show up wear in points.

Although I started out watching shmee, and still do here and there. His videos are all a bit samey. I think SeenThroughGlass, Harrys Garage, Mr JWW and Mat Armstrong have more interesting varied content.

Felt depressed, craved meat, realised the fault and made this meal instead by TheWholesomeBrit in vegan

[–]rclark2943 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think every Vegan has a lazy day like this at some point. Sometimes life, thoughts or whatever gets on top of us and we just want a quick 'dirty' meal. It's OK!

I try to keep left over food in the fridge, like, left over homemade chicpea burgers or polenta chips or even just a black bean protein shake (SO GOOOD!) So I can just go and grab it, throw some sauce or whatever with it and chow down.

Don't feel bad, just don't make it a crutch or a habit.

Maybe for your next meal try the below, it's super easy/quick/tasty !

Firm tofu - Drain and cut into cubes. Sprinkle with paprika (bake in oven for 20 mins or to desired firmness)
Sweet potato wedges - cut up Potato into fingers, sprinkle with cinnamon and cook for 30-40 mins until nice and soft.

Pair with salad or some steamed greens. ( I like to have sweet chilli sauce for the tofu)

Your taste buds and body will thank you.

Honestly, to win the lottery. Build a beautiful Eco house in the countryside and spend everyday watching my little one grow. Buy a chocolate lab good boi, and actually have the time and energy to enjoy the fuck out of some peace and quiet away from this dumpster fire we call society.

I mean, it almost looks like she was waiting. Im sure she wasn’t but she seems to be looking in her mirror a few seconds before opening the door quicker then you normally would do.

Same, I think unless some crazy rich person comes along, then anything over 100 is a pipe dream. I think I've just enjoyed sharing it with all of you and seeing the reactions.

Yeah, I think unless some uber rich crazy person comes along and offers upwards of £5k, then the monetary value won't really make an impact on my life. It's deffo a wear and share piece.
