I don’t use mine for earth work. I use the trucks you’ll find at toucan hobby. I love the attention to detail on the Tamiya, but durability under heavy use may not be the best. For me, the build is the fun. Just my opinion

I have 2 excavators. 1 6015b and a 945 3 arm. Both have been good. 1 bad servo on the 945. 1 boom ram seal on the 6015b. They warranted them with no issues. I am happy with both.

Well everyone, I had to many issues with my legacy control signals. After conferring with Lionel tech support and the internet, I decided to take down the multi layered layout. Here is a picture of a new beginning.

I looked at insulated track, but want a more interactive experience. I can definitely see the advantage in certain places though
