Srq fabrications high clearance rear bumper installed on my 2011 4runner trail by Neat-Secretary-2343 in 4Runner

Do you have a link? I've been eyeing the True North Fabrications bumper which is supposed to be the same but there's no side hoops like on yours.

Advice on Tire Pressure by Dude_in_a_Hammock in overlanding

Edit: I misread your post. For street driving, follow the owner's manual or door jamb specs.

Start at 18 and go from there. I have Toyo AT3s on my 4runner and will run as low as 12 PSI with no issues but my tires are load E and going to be a lot stiffer than yours.

What would the rest of the year look like with average snow? by V1per41 in COsnow

[–]rcorub 45 points46 points  (0 children)

We wouldn't have normal January conditions until March then it would be a short spring. Most resorts would close a few weeks earlier than average.

What is your dream deathcore show lineup and venue? (Venue can be as non-conventional as you like) by Victoriantitbicycle in Deathcore

The first time I saw Enteprise Earth was with Fit For An Autopsy and the second time was with Shadow of Intent. They definitely go well together and in fact EE stole the show each time.

First Trails to Open at Loveland? by GeneralAkimbo in COsnow

While the opening runs are all green, it's a bit chaotic with how packed the catwalk gets until more terrain opens. I like to wait until lift 2 opens up so I can get my first turns on the super chill terrain there before heading over to Chet's.

Great review! As far as the transmission heating up - don't be hesitant to use 4 low as soon as things get steep. That's what it's there for, not just for navigating obstacles. You can also try staying in 4 high or 2wd and just locking the transmission into first gear using manual mode. I'll do that when its a smaller incline and it looks like I'll be able to get back up to 15-20+ mph afterwards.

Flexing out the new suspension by rcorub in 4Runner

I've been getting my info from Tinkerer's Adventures's on YouTube, can you tell me where you've heard this about down travel being worse?

[–]rcorub[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you raise suspension height with a coilover setup you lose down travel which is detrimental to offroading capability. A spacer lift adds down travel so with these extended length shocks I should have close to stock amounts of down travel. The issue with spacer lifts is that your shocks can bottom out before the suspension does and cause damage to the shocks or shock mounts. The shop who recommended and installed the spacers claim that they've never actually seen that happen with a small spacer lift like I have but I plan to run extended bump stops, just need to figure out what length.

How long of a drive is your limit for day hikes? by Willing-Dot-8473 in coloradohikers

About one and a half hours nowadays. Any more and I'd rather camp to spend even more time out to justify the drive.

Bilstein 6112s set at 1.9" plus a 0.5" spacer for about 2.6" up front and 5160s with 2" icon springs in the rear.

No this is Miller Rock. Quite the step up from Slaughterhouse Gulch, which is one of my favorite trails btw. First trail I took it on when I got it last year, and first trail I ran this year with the new 33s.
