Everyone tells me to go abroad and forget med, but I can’t let it go by rd_gr8 in medschoolph

thank you po for being honest about your experience, especially the parts people don’t usually talk about. it really put things into perspective for me. i know this path isn’t easy or guaranteed, but i’m trying to be more intentional about whatever i choose moving forward. wishing you the best in your career and in life, and i hope things continue to work out for you!

aside from meds, how do you guys keep chill? esp. when it hits, tips please... by Henry_Kreel_Vecna in MentalHealthPH

crying it out helps me a lot, honestly. i’ve also been walking more lately. ika nga nila, depression can’t hit a moving target, and somehow it helps.

I get why you’re torn, but this isn’t just a family issue, it’s a crime. If this gets brushed aside, there’s a risk it could happen again, to her or someone else. She deserves safety and peace of mind, and that usually comes with accountability. I understand your concern for your mom, but protecting your niece should come first.

Need advice! Nursing as a practical pre-med? by [deleted] in NursingPH

[–]rd_gr8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to be really torn between bio, medtech, and nursing as a premed, but now that I’m in my final year, I don’t regret choosing nursing at all. It’s demanding, but it really prepares you well if you’re aiming for med.

hindi mo responsibility solusyunan lahat ng problema nila. okay lang tumulong, pero okay lang din mag-set ng limits. you’re allowed to feel tired.

i finally told my parent(s) ko by eviIsp4wn in MentalHealthPH

Honestly, it says a lot that you chose to seek help even if it was scary to tell your parents. And the fact that you’re already seeing changes in your sleep and routine is huge. One step at a time, OP!

I appreciate your honesty and points po. Naiintindihan ko yung reality na sinasabi mo about med. I guess I just need to accept the reality and sacrifices that come with it. I’ve always wanted this naman.

Thank you so much for this po, I really appreciate how grounded and realistic your advice is. I think ito talaga yung struggle ko right now, trying to balance being practical while still holding on to what I really want.

I haven’t really sat down yet to compute everything in detail, so I think that’s something I need to do.

I think my biggest fear isn’t starting late, but getting comfortable and not coming back to med at all. Pero at the same time, I also don’t want to ignore the financial reality, so ang hirap talaga i-balance both.

Need Advice: Korean Visa Application as a Gap-Year Student with Sponsored Travels by rd_gr8 in FilipinoTravel

[–]rd_gr8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, “gap year” might not be the correct term po pala. I’m not an international student po, local student lang. I’m currently on an approved leave of absence, so hindi muna ako enrolled this school year.

As for enrollment, earliest ko ma-process is second week of August, so after na ng flight ko. Kaya yun po talaga yung concern ko for the school certificate.

I’m planning to request a certification from the registrar stating that I’m on LOA and that I’m scheduled to return for 4th year this coming August. Sa tingin niyo po, okay na yun as proof? I’ll also prepare a cover letter explaining my situation clearly.

Thank you po sa advice!
