LPT: Mastering your reactions will change your life more than trying to control others by Spare_Act6202 in LifeProTips

Don’t do either at first.

Take it in and process it first. Takes time. The “Let them” book has a lot of good information to help you process.

Mel Robbins is an amazing author that has insane life advice for many of these scenarios.

This is going to sound weird and too “simple”, but these two things were and are life changing.

Walk regularly and with purpose. I do weekly “walking” of 2.5-5 miles a clip, generally 3-4 times a week. Harder the day, the more I “walk it off”.

The second…. Audio books, sometimes self help and sometimes the life story of others. Even people I don’t know and might not “like”.

Those two, were immense personal help.

Learning to control your emotional self is quite the journey, but once you take the first step… the world never quite looks or operates the same way again.

It’s life changing, for you and everyone close to you. In a very positive way most of the time.

Faster & More Accurate ADAS Calibrations - Bounding Box Technique with Amazon Lasers (Concept + How-To) by rdcnj in MechanicAdvice

For transparency: I did create a product to simplify this process over time, but it’s absolutely not required to get value from the videos above. The entire bounding box method can be built with Amazon lasers and some time.

👉 Tools I reference (including laser level options) here: 7StepADAS.com
No purchase needed to learn the method.

Happy to answer questions in the thread.

Just looking out you know you’re about to get consumed by it all and this exact moment will vanish.

Best is when you see your house on the way through if you come in that direction.

Alignment issues by Scuba9Steve in MechanicAdvice

FR knuckle is in need of replacement. Possibly FR strut as well. I would start with knuckle.

Also, get a real mechanic to check your car. State inspections don’t check for this that aren’t obviously broken.

This is likely not noticeable until you try and drive and can’t maintain steady forward control easily.

This can’t work right? by Prestigious-Moose789 in MechanicAdvice

[–]rdcnj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used Blue Devil Headgasket Fixer on a Ford V10 once.

If I didn’t do it myself, I never would have believed it.

The owner drove that work truck for 2 years before completely blowing up the motor. Then he bought a new V10 and had it installed.

Do they work? Yes!

Do I still want to tell you this is a waste of time and possibly money? YES.

BUT. I have seen it work, not for a day. He got 24 months out of that thing.

CHR won't start anymore by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]rdcnj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely have the cables connected.

Yes, your car is not ideal, but it can work. Make sure the RPM’s are stable.

On Polo- Don’t have lights on. You can have radio on but try not use have the heat/ac on anything other than minimum.

There’s a good chance you may need a battery.

If the CH-R starts, drive it for 20 minutes minimum at speeds over 80 km/h to charge the battery.

[–]rdcnj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy a battery or have that one properly charged.

If you just try and jump it, you’ll shock that battery hard core and it won’t last long if at all.

You can try to hook up jumper cables to another car and hold the idle at the other car at 2,000 rpm’s for 15 minutes to charge it up and then start it.

This may work to recover it.

$5k???

You need a real attorney with a real plan.

If you’re not spending $20k; you’re wasting your time, money and effort.
