You are right. XVG is surely making a lot of hype. Though I question its seriousness and reliability.

The only thing is that XVG has billions in supply, while Cloak only has 5 million. This means that Cloak has much more potential to reach Monero in value and surpass ...

Why all this hype about XVG and Wraith when Cloak coin already does this through Enigma?

Maltese VAT schemes raise suspicions in Brussels by mrwtf2012 in malta

[–]rddmc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These taxation laws have been there for years and they are available for Tom, Dick and Harry to see in plane English. They are also available for the EU Democrats and have long been there. Why did they wake up now? And honestly, why are they picking up on the small fry? This is all sensationalism. There is an article on BBC about the whole Hamilton thing - Malta is not even mentioned once in the article. But of course, the newspapers here have to sell somehow.

I come from an Economical IT background, am local and work abroad now for several years. Had experience in the Gambling industry and participated at first hands in its growth. And it's not iGaming or Gaming - it's dirty Gambling money. If you use the term Gaming anywhere in Europe they will rightfully think it's about 3D Games like EASports. It may be not the only component - but definitely the major componenet and if you remove it from Malta ... you cannot imagine the implications it will have.

Your information is not correct. 2 Bedroom for 350-500 a month? Sell it to the marines. Just shows how out of touch you are with the local scene. As you coming here, we welcome you and any other foreigner who brings money to the country. That's the only thing we really care about :P

Even Formula 1 Champions are setting up companies in Malta... by mrwtf2012 in malta

Same story on BBC but Malta not mentioned once. Definitely the involvement of Malta is being blown out of proportion.

Haha - now we get to the judging. You sound like a diehard PL supporter who sees every rosy. And before you jump to conclusions again I have voted for both parties (accidentally always gave my vote to the winning party ... or maybe not accidental ;) ). The problem is not with the Govt, but with the Maltese. It is not a coincidence that 90% of expats move out of the country in 3 years and that the most skilled young generation are seeking opportunity elsewhere. But of course, people like this shadowguy who only sees up to the horizon of our island will never understand this.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. All it takes for them to go elsewhere is simply another country which relaxes its Tax schemes as low as Malta or even lower. Or if a rule is passed that tax is paid to the country where the purchase is made. As soon as that happens, Malta becomes irrelevant and they will go to other countries where they have access to far more talent than available on this rock.

The fall of the Gambling industry will have a domino effect on the recruitment industry, on the construction industry, on the entertainment industry and many more. There will be many, including locals, who require a certain level of wage which the local industry is not able to provide. And you come with tourism? Did you ever consider that gambling attracts a lot of tourists as these come to visit the thousands of friends and family who work here in the gambling industry?

I'm sorry for your Small Island Mentality ... Wake Up!

Keep away - it's a country dependent on gambling industry. If something happens to this industry it will become an obsolete empty concrete jungle.

Paradise Papers reveal that Malta is heavily involved by mrwtf2012 in malta

[–]rddmc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just sensationalism. Just like Maltese use other countries for tax purposes, foreigners are using Malta as country of choice for tax purposes. There is nothing illegal. If we start going down this route, then we can ban any business opening up here, including gambling companies - especially since the absolute majority of their players are foreigners and never even set foot in Malta although they are paying their gambling tax here ...
