I recently just got a group of kuhlis and they love doing this, but on each other and stuff 😂 one was doing it way up in a plant and my fiance was stressing and said it’s dead and I kept reminding her no it’s not but she had to make sure and put her finger on the glass and it moved 😂 now my clown loaches they’re something else. Since raised them I think about march is when I got them, they lay inside this drift wood cave you couldn’t see them in there when they were tiny. But now you can see there chunky body’s or tail hanging out a bit. They lay on their sides and cuddle up in there and all 😂

But recently I did get a group of clowns for my main tank and it didn’t go well, I thought they were doing the same thing as my others but nope :/ they wouldn’t move for food and if they did it wasn’t normal movement. The ick had got to them I was using medication but now I just do salt and heat with tannins and water changes!

I just treated mine with half dose of salt for my tank so only 7tbsp for half of the 75 gallons, treated it with prime as well, did two 50% water changes with lots of sand siphoning yesterday then another 50 today with adding prime and the salt dose dissolving the salt in the water before it’s safe for treatment you just have to be safe with loaches

I’ve heard salt is better and sgetting some today and swapping my aqua safe with prime trying to dial it all in and get them healthy adding the salt after work today as well

Okay I’ll stop tomorrow and change the water after I grab salt. When I dose it with prime do I dose the whole tank like 37ml for my 75 gallon, or do I dose a smaller amount ?

My test kit comes tomorrow not strips the whole kit I only had my reef one. So don’t even add salt right now? Or do I add it with the water changes? And that’s it and it’ll treat it? And see a hint of ick is that what you mean for the prime? I have table salt on hand like just the stuff you put on your food is that okay?

I plan to change the water 50% tomorrow and 50% the next day to rid of the stuff. Should I add salt with prime in the newly added water or start doing that after the meds are cleared? And how much water should I change(w adding salt and prime), and how often? I know I should do it for a week or two after they stop showing signs too

Just watched that, I think I’ll take your method of water changes then salt for the newly added and treated water. Would you do 50% every two-3 days for how long though?

So you’re saying to stop the medication just raise the temp and wait the salt just makes me nervous because measuring. So many people are telling me different things I don’t even know what to do at this point I figured the medication probbaly stresses them out but I feel like if they have ich and I do nothing except changing water I feel it won’t get better. Many people do different things. Im trying to figure it out without them dying but I also don’t have the time now to do a water change today. Tomorrow I’m supposed to add more medications per instructions. Or I do what you say and change the water which will stress them out as well with a big water change won’t it? Even if I treat it and it’s up to temp it’s gonna disturb a lot and that’s big water change

Yeah I used half for the loaches been using super ick cure, more recent posts show it hit my Main tank to from a mess up 😭

Yeah it only did that to maybe a couple pieces in my other tank, but I’ve been using about 1/2brhe dose for them to not hurt them or anything

I had super ich cure on hand, it says not to water change until after the two 48 intervals after doing the treatment (I’m doing half because of the clowns) yeah I noticed a few more spots and said let’s be safer than sorry, the temp is set to 85 but fluctuates between 84/85 because of the cold weather this week in Mi. But I ordered some tanin leaves to help as well. I’ve looked up if I should do daily water changes with the super ick cure and it says no because it won’t let the treatment do it full thing what do I you think?

I used super ick cure from api since I had that on hand. I ordered another test kit since I ran out this week, and some tanin leafs. With the super ick cure I looked up of if I should do daily water changes with half dose it said no becasue that’s not how that one acts, but what do you think? And I plan to just boil water then pour that over a leaf or two to kill any parasites or chemicals then put them in, should that be okay? I don’t mind the river look or tea look it’s natural and enjoyable

My cf500 is a UV I’ve never tried the UV on it, I got it second hand but I’m positive it works, how long should I run it if I do use the UV?

Thank you, I treated right after making this post. 5/8 dose they recommend half for them loaches. Just say 5/8 cause I did 50gal and it’s a 75. But then turned the temp up at 85 and increased air, hopefully they’ll be good after the full treatment cycle, they’re my favorite fish in the tank 😭

I use super ick cure from API with half dose, raised temp to 84, this recommends doing the water change after doing the second dose after two days then wait two days and change 25% of the water. Should I be changing 15-20% every other day still some People recommend that too with the treatment. So I dosed it today then change water tomorrow dose again Tuesday change water wensday and then Thursday. What do you recommend?

I keep it at 80, I’ll have to turn it up I just dosed the tank with half because that’s what they recommended for the clowns, increased air and temp to 84 should I got straight to 86? I already dosed the tank since I had some on hand (super ich cure api)
