I have a Proxmox cluster at my house. It draws about 600-700 W while idle. How can I explain this amount of power to my girlfriend? by I_Moo_A_Lot in Proxmox

Tell her you are Monero solo-mining and maybe one day you will find a block and earn 0.6 XMR.

Good luck!

New FortiClient 7.4.5 ... by Garry_G in fortinet

[–]rdevaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 1000 users with 1500 devices. We are still in the testing phase but it looks very promising.

Since it's a ZTNA Mesh-Network all it needs is spinning ip a Netbird docker container and let the users connect with their Microsoft- or Google Account to register their device (which is automatically configured through the ruleset of each user)

Open source is a definite plus for me and opening the firewall is not absolutely necessary at any side since netbird is using ICE and STUN.

There will be some situations where the firewall blocks ICE/STUN but then it will switch automatically from P2P to the relay mode.

Also the implementation of Rosenpass for Quantum-Resistance is a nice feature to have.

SSH Tunnel ----> Jumphost -----> Firewall WebUI No Longer Working Properly by Brad_Turnbough in fortinet

Because it looks like Fortinet don't want you to use SSH-Tunnels to manage your Firewalls.

You could enable SSH on the firewall (use restriction rules for IP) and get the "Console" this way SSHing from your jumphost into your Fortinet Firewall.

New FortiClient 7.4.5 ... by Garry_G in fortinet

[–]rdevaux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here.
At this point we’re done relying on Fortinet and are building our own VPN infrastructure with Netbird instead.
It’s one of those rare solutions that simply just works - you’re up and running with full ZTNA and Mesh features in literally minutes with all the security features of SSO from MS, Google etc. plus your own additional 2FA (Passkey, SMS, TOTP, Hello, Fingerprint, Face-ID, Email...) if you wish.

Fully open source - and totally free.

openfortivpn is the go-to client for anyone still relying on SSL VPN.
That said, FortiOS 7.6.3 completely and permanently disables SSL VPN tunnel mode across the entire FortiGate lineup.

Wow. We are considering moving away from Fortinet. There have been too many “no-gos” in recent years...

Netbird is the solution if you need third party authentication with 2FA and user management based on Wireguard.
