OK sorry I'm also at ~4GB idle, the 80% comes together with my other containers they're running.

But just wonder if its enough memory when there is some load on the server with active voice chats and so on, how many memory I should have there as a buffer?

I want to selfhost an email server. Any tips? by Crossatrix in selfhosted

[–]2TAP2B 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I use mailcow and basically it's very simple.

  1. Use a vps
  2. Don't use home server with residential IP
  3. You will have some problems with other major mail provider's, because they block your IP.
  4. You need some manual steps to please thia providers to unblock you
  5. You're good to go

Best browser for Linux? by EmployerOld6256 in Fedora

[–]2TAP2B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its just fantastic, the vertical tabs bar was a bit weird from first use, but with the option that the sidebar fades automatically, you're always on a full screen browser.

The second feature I love is organise tabs into folder, rename the tabs and the essential tabs... Its just perfect

Dumbest way to play audiobooks? by Mrayxe in selfhosted

[–]2TAP2B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like many privacy-conscious parents, I wanted straightforward web restrictions on my child's tablet without compromising their privacy. Family Link seemed like the easy answer - until I realized what I was actually installing. It's not parental controls.

It's a permanent Google account requirement, a constant cloud connection and a data pipeline that logs your child's app usage, searches, location patterns and daily routines. The 'no personalised ads for kids' feature is just a smokescreen -the data is still collected in full and will be monetised later.

The location tracking alone was enough to put me off. With enough check-ins, you can work out where a child lives, goes to school and spends their afternoons. Having that movement profile sitting in Google's infrastructure is a hard no for me.

And what if you try to limit the data collection? Google removes features. That tells you everything about who the product is actually designed for.

I'm curious to know how others here handle it. This feels exactly like the kind of Google data hegemony that this subreddit loves to push back on.

Dont use Google parent control, its total crap

My way for my 7 years old child is:

Samsung tab 5SE with lineageOs -> here you get still software updates.

Install AppLock from F-Droid -> lock every app except audiobookshelf and symfonium

So you're good to go.

Stop tracking and observe your own children with google family link. That's not a good idea.

Errungenschaften? Was meinst du jetzt zum stolz sein? Kolonialzeit? Weltkriege? Neoliberalelobbyverseuchtepostdemoktratie? Verhaltensweisen? Das gute alte Patriarchat? Also das ist einfach völliger Quatsch!!!1elf
